Volkswagen India to introduce Vento Highline Plus in India

As per the report from bloggers, the Volkswagen Vento Highline Plus to be available at the Volkswagen dealerships in India. The company has already started the delivery of new Vento Highline Plus variants to the VW showrooms and the price announcement will be revealed in the next month. The newest variant gets the rear parking camera, LED headlamps, DRLs and 16-inch alloy wheels.
In fact, Volkswagen India has already showcased the Vento Highline Plus at the 2016 Auto Expo with the 15-inch alloy rims. Now, the new variants to get the 16-inch alloy wheels. The new version will be offered by the three engine options with four-cylinder capacity, the 1.6-litre MPI naturally-aspirated petrol, 1.2-litre TSI turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel.
Speaking about the transmission, the 1.6-litre MPI and 1.5-litre TDI variants get the 5-speed manual as standard, whereas the 7-speed DSG is standard in TSI variant and optional in TDI variant.
The Volkswagen Vento is one of the best-selling sedans in India and with the introduction of the Highline Plus variant, the Vento range to be increased in the Indian market.

Maruti Suzuki discontinues sale of S-Cross crossover lower variants in India


Based on the report from Economic Times, the Indian carmaker has discontinued the sale of Maruti S-Cross crossover lower variants, which feature 1.6-litre diesel engines in India, due to lowest demand. Maruti Suzuki is now selling the S-Cross Alpha variant (top-end version) available with the 1.6-litre diesel engine and it is priced Rs. 12.03lakh in ex-showroom of New Delhi.

Besides, Maruti Suzuki continues the sales of three variants (Sigma, Delta and Alpha) powered by the 1.3-litre diesel engine and which are available in the ex-showroom price range of Rs 8.78 lakh to Rs 10.63 lakh.
The existed variants of the S-Cross continuously sold by the premium Nexa outlets. In the S-Cross 1.6-litre segment, most of the customers only opt for the highest Alpha trim as it contains all features. So that the company has planned to discontinue the lower variants.
According to company’s spokesperson, the company has started the new segment of premium crossover with the S-Cross and the model gets average sales of 2,000 to 2,100 units monthly. Moreover, the company has reduced the price of the crossover by more than Rs.2 lakh in India. The 1.3-litre variants had a reduction of Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 66,000, whereas the 1.6-litre variants have a reduction of Rs. 2,05,000 for three trims.
Based on the existing model, the company is making the advanced 2017 Maruti S-Cross, which has been previewed at the Surat Auto Expo, for the next generation customers. The facelifted crossover has launched in the European market and it is expected to be introduced in the second half of this year in the country. The 2017 Maruti S-Cross will get the 16-inch gunmetal alloy wheels, chrome door handles, leather seat upholstery, Apple CarPlay, Smart play touch screen infotainment system, as well.

Maruti Suzuki Launched Wagon R VXi+ in India at Rs. 4.69lakhs


The Indian biggest carmaker has released new top-end variant, Maruti Wagon R VXI+ in the Indian market at the affordable price tag of Rs 4.69lakhs. The new variants offered by the both types of gearboxes, including manual and AGS – Auto Gear Shift. The top-end variant has developed based upon the Stingray variant that is available with the bells, projector headlamps, taillamp, chrome grille, as well. Besides, the new Wagon R variant also gets the side skirts, alloy wheels and the optional safety features like ABS, dual airbags and EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) system.
The company has delivered more than 19lakh units of Wagon R vehicles since its launch. Now, the carmaker has introduced the new variants to meet the demands of customers, who have more desired for elevated style, design, comfort, convenience and additional safety features. The new variants will strengthen the Wagon R brand range in the market as well as increase the company’s market share.
The new Wagon R variants come with the same petrol engine, 1.0-litre K10B, which has capable of generating 68PS of power at 6,000rpm and 90Nm torque at 3,500rpm. The petrol engine is coupled with the 5-speed manual or AMT (AGS). The Wagon R VXi gives the mileage of 20.51kmpl in both AMT and manual versions.

Mahindra XUV 500 and KUV 100 to get new variants to counter rivals


The homegrown auto major, Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to introduce the new variants of the existing utility vehicles, XUV 500 and KUV 100 in the Indian market to counter rivals. In the UV space, the car companies, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors have launched their new products in this year.  The new variants to get the special equipment in terms of the safety features, design, as well.
Tata Motors has been launched the Tata Hexa, which is offered in six versions, to target the strong players in the UV segment. For last few months, the compact SUV segment has the strongest demand with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. As of these reasons, Mahindra has decided to introduce new versions of KUV 100 and XUV 500.
The XUV 500 is added with the additional connectivity technologies, including mood lighting and new EcoSense telematics that will allow real-time tracking of the vehicle like fuel economy, as well. Additionally, the XUV 500 added with the safety button, which will be triggered to the respective parts in any accident or unexpected situation and call the stored emergency phone number.
In the premium SUV space, Mahindra has already sold around 3000 to 3500 XUVs in a month, so the company is upgrading the KUV 100 to hold the strong space in the micro SUV segment. As per the reports, the KUV 100 will also be offered in dual colors, host of accessories and the options of bigger alloy wheels.
With the new versions, Mahindra will meet the industry targets in the corresponding segments.

Mahindra KUV 100 Anniversary Edition Showcased at Autocar Performance Show 2017


The utility vehicle leader, Mahindra has been showcased the anniversary edition of its Mahindra KUV 100 at the Autocar Performance Show 2017.  The Mahindra KUV 100 offers with a fashionable new look to increase the KUV 100 range in the present market. In fact, the features brochure of the KUV 100 anniversary edition has been leaked in online and the model expected to be launched in the coming days.
Coming to the design, the KUV 100 offers with the dual tone exterior, Dazzling Silver and Flamboyant Red colors, which can be available with the black roof. For a new look, the KUV 100 anniversary edition gets the 15-inch alloy wheels with a dynamic design in the high-end variant, whereas the 14-inch alloy wheels with the Spider design to be offered in the KUV 100 K6 and K6+ variants.
Like the Mahindra Nuvosport, the KUV 100 will offer the four accessory kits, including Sporty Interior Kit, Sporty Exterior Kit, Premium Interior Kit and Premium Exterior Kit.
As per the reports, the 2017 KUV 100 will get the updates to the powertrains (engines) for better fuel efficiency and performance, but the features brochure doesn’t contain about this. Currently, the KUV 100 is available with the 1.2-litr G80 petrol motor, which generates maximum power of 82bhp and the torque of 115Nm. Also, the diesel version offers with the 1.2-litre D75 diesel engine rated at 77bhp of power and 190Nm of torque.
Both engines offered with the 5-speed manual transmission, the petrol car returns the fuel efficiency of 18.15kmpl, while the diesel rated at ARAI tested mileage of 25.32kmpl. The reports emerging that the KUV 100 will get the AMT variants, but there is no confirmation whether the KUV 100 AMT to be available in the part of anniversary edition update.
Just 10 days back, Maruti has launched the Ignis crossover to target the existing KUV 100, but the Ignis will get the toughest completion from KUV 100 after the release of the anniversary edition.

Maruti Ignis Received Over 10,000 Bookings

Being a new urban Maruti car, the Ignis gets more than 10,000 bookings in just one week of the period from its launch on 13thJanuary 2017. The new crossover was originally previewed at the 2015 Tokyo Show before its introduction in India. The production version of the Ignis was showcased for the first time in India at 2016 Auto Expo. The entry-level compact crossover has been derived from Suzuki’s i-M4 concept, which offers a rich experience to the Indian customers.
This is the first car from Maruti Suzuki gets more than 10,000 bookings with the unique design and features including Nexa safety shield pre-tensioners, standard ABS, dual airbags, 15-inch alloy wheels, as well. It is available with the stylish LED projector headlamps, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Andriod Auto, Apple CarPlay, as well.
Maruti Ignis sold via through the premium outlets in the NEXA network, which will be expanded in the coming years with the well-established services. The Ignis is the third vehicle from Nexa, which was opened doors with the Maruti S-Cross crossover.
The Ignis powered by 1.3-litre DDiS diesel and 1.2-litre VVT engine with two transmission options, 5-speed MT and 5-Speed AMT. In the coming days, it will be available with the all-wheel drive system. The Ignis petrol delivers 20.89kmpl and the diesel motor delivers a good mileage of 26.80kmpl.
The Ignis will compete the existing brands, Renault Kwid, Datsun GO-Cross, Mahindra KUV 100 and upcoming Tata Tiago Aktiv.

Tata Motors launched Hexa to rival Mahindra XUV 500 and Toyota Innova Crysta

The Tata Hexa MPV-SUV crossover has been launched in the country at the opening cost of Rs. 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company has already started bookings for the Hexa and it is available in six different versions, Hexa XE, Hexa XM, Hexa XMA, Hexa XT, Hexa XTA and Hexa XT 4x4.
Tata Hexa will face the competition from the strong players, Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra XUV 500. Here is the comparison of the three models in terms of dimensions, powertrain, features, safety and pricing.
Dimensions:
Tata Hexa is longer and wider than both models and also offering with the strong wheelbase. But, its height is lower compared to the XUV 500 and Innova Crysta.

Powertrain:
Tata Hexa is offered with the two different engines, 2.2-litre turbocharged VARICOR 320 diesel that delivers 148hp power at 4,000rpm and 320Nm torque and the 2.2-litre turbocharged VARICOR 400 diesel engine develops 154hp power at 4,000rpm and 400Nm torque. The small engine mated with the 5-speed manual version, whereas the other one mated with the 6-speed manual transmission. Moreover, the 6 MT variants also offered with an all-wheel drive system.
The Mahindra XUV 500 powered by the 2.2-litre diesel engine rated at 140hp of power at 3560rpm and 330Nm torque at 1600-2800rpm. Higher variants offered with the AWD and good off-road capabilities.
The Toyota Innova Crysta offered by the three types of engines. The 2.7-litre petrol engine has a capability of 164hp of power at 5,200rpm and 245Nm torque at 4,000rpm and offered with the 5-speed MT and 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 2.4-litre diesel engine churns out 148hp power and 343Nm torque and the third highly efficient develops 172hp power and 360Nm torque.
Safety:
The Tata Hexa offers with the maximum number of airbags, including co-driver, curtain and side airbags, in higher variants with driving aids like Electronic Stability Program, automatic headlamps, HDC - Hill Descent Control, HHC – Hill Hold Control, standard ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), as well.  The Innova Crysta gets seven airbags and ABS but it wasn’t featured ESP, EBD and adjustable driver seat. The XUV 500 gets ESP with rollover mitigation and the standard features.
Pricing:
The Innova is costlier than the XUV 500 and new Tata Hexa and offered with a price tag of Rs. 13.9lakhs to Rs. 21.19lakhs. The Mahindra XUV 500 carries a price tag of Rs. 12.46 for the basic variant and Rs. 18.54 lakh for the top version. The Tata Hexa is priced between Rs. 11.99lakh to Rs. 17.49lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Launched Ignis at Rs. 4.59lakhs


The Indian largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki has launched its new urban sub-4metre car, Maruti Ignis in India at the price tag of Rs. 4.59lakhs in ex-showroom, New Delhi. The Ignis has been introduced with a caption of “none of a kind” and offered with the original face. It is available in petrol manual, diesel manual, petrol automatic and diesel automatic trims.
The Ignis concept was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and spotted for few times in the Indian market. The 5-seater Ignis is the first car from Maruti Suzuki in this year and available with the new design philosophy includes funky tall-boy design, LED headlamps, Apple car play with tablet touchscreen display, as well.
The interior of the Ignis is offered in black and beige colored equipment includes height adjustable driver seat, all power windows, power mirrors, as well. The inspiring technology received by Maruti Ignis with the many advanced features like reverse parking sensor with a camera, push start button, multi-information TFT screen and automatic air conditioner.

Volkswagen Polo and Ameo to get 16-inch alloy wheels


The Volkswagen Group cars, including Volkswagen Polo, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Ameo, to get new design alloy wheels, according to the fresh reports. The two test models spied with the 16-inch PORTAGO alloy wheels available in the global-specific Volkswagen Polo whereas, the test model of Skoda Rapid to get twin-spoke alloy wheels.
Currently, the VW Polo offers with the steel wheels (14 and 15-inches) and 15-inch TOSA alloy wheels. Whatever the steel engines offered in the Volkswagen Polo are featured by the sub-4metre sedan, the Volkswagen Ameo. Additionally, the sedan car has featured the 15-inch alloy wheels.
The new Skoda Rapid facelift is available with the three different types of wheels, including 15-inch Dentro steel, 15-inch Matone alloy wheels and 15-inch Bold alloy wheels. New wheel design will most probably offer in the high-end trim levels of the cars.
Moreover, the next generation Volkswagen Vento to be received the VW Group’s new AQB A0 platform and launched in the duration of 2018-19. It will feature the three engine options, 1.5-litre TDI diesel, 1.2-litre TSI petrol and 1.4-litre MPI petrol.  The reports indicated that the next-generation T-Cross Breeze compact SUV to get the MQB A0 platform.

Top 10 selling cars in December 2016


The Indian passenger cars have seen negative sales in the last month of the previous year due to demonetisation - ban of Rs. 1000 ad Rs. 500 notes in India. The three automakers highlighted in the list, Maruti Suzuki India with six models, Hyundai Motor India with three models and Renault India with one model. The ban of notes has impacted the sales of two-wheelers, large SUVs and commercial vehicles in the country.
In the list of top 10 selling cars, all models except Hyundai Eon, Renault Kwid and Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, have registered negative sales. Maruti Suzuki Alto dominates the list with sales of 17,351 units in the last month. But, the Alto small car has seen negative sales in December 2016 compared to 22,589 units in December 2015.
Maruti Suzuki cars including Dzire, Swift and Wagon R have occupied second, third and fourth slots with sales of 14,643units, 14,538 units and 14,176 units respectively. The Hyundai Grand i10 is the fifth selling car in the last month and registered 10,519 units. Hyundai has sold 12,749 units of Grand i10 in December 2015 and delivered 1lakh units (1,07,811 units).
Maruti Suzuki sold 9,486 units of Baleno hatchback, premium car sold via the NEXA network. It was registered 10,572 units in December 2015. The smallest car Renault Kwid occupied the seventh place in December 2016 with the sales of 8,797units.
The highest-selling hatchback, Hyundai Elite i20 holds 8,450units in the previous month and there was a difference between around 900 variants difference compared to the sales in the year-ago period. The next places (9th and 10th) occupied by the Maruti Celerio and Hyundai Eon with sales of 7,189 units and 6,790 units. After nine months, Hyundai Eon enters in the list of top 10 selling cars.

2017 Suzuki Wagon R Images Leaked in Japan


As per the reports, the next-generation models, 2017 Suzuki Wagon R and 2017 Stingray are rendering in the Japanese market. Both models reported to introduce in the next month in Japan. Expecting that some of the changes made in the 2017 Suzuki Wagon R will be applied to 2017 Maruti Wagon R. whereas, the design inspiration will borrow from 2017 Suzuki Wagon R.
According to the renders, the Wagon R Stingray model will not come to India. For the Japanese market, both models to get the boxy tallboy styling, revolutionary design elements and contemporary look. Moreover, the 2017 Wagon R models to get the grille with chrome bar and headlamps, thick B-pillar, new bumper with large intakes and the horizontal taillamps.
The 2017 Wagon R Stingray to get the swept-back projector headlamps, side skirts, large angular grille, large intakes in the bumper with fog lamps and black colored tail lamps.
Coming to the mechanical specifications, both models will be offered by the 660cc R06A engine that is available in natural aspirated and turbocharged guises. It will be offered with the 5-speed manual gearbox or CVT and equipped with the S-Energy Charge packed with ISG (Integrated Starter Generator) and lithium-ion battery pack.
In India, the India carmaker will reportedly manufacture the 2017 Maruti Wagon R at the company’s Gujarat’s plant. The upcoming Maruti Wagon R to be offered in seven-seat variant and additional features. Additional details of 7-seater Wagon R will be updated soon.

Maruti NEXA accepted bookings for Ignis with a deposit of Rs. 11,000


The premium Maruti NEXA dealerships are now accepting pre-bookings for the Ignis small crossover in the Indian market with a minimum deposit of Rs. 11,000. The bookings of the Maruti Ignis to be made online using the Nexa website ahead of its market launch scheduled on January 13, 2017.  Based on the reports, some of the Nexa dealers have expected to quote the waiting period of three to six weeks for the sub-4metre Ignis. Some of the Ignis variants will most probably receive waiting period in the country.
Ignis Engines and Transmissions:
The new small Maruti car is likely to be the best-selling car in this year and help the company to popularise the NEXA network. The Ignis is offered in petrol and diesel variants, the petrol versions to be powered by the four-cylinder, 1.2L K12B petrol engine rated at 61kW or 83PS of maximum power and the torque of 113Nm.
The Ignis diesel car will be available with the four-cylinder, 1.3L DDiS 190L diesel engine that has an ability to develop the outstanding output of 75PS (55.2kW) of power and 180Nm torque. Coming to the transmission, the 5-speed manual is offered as standard gearbox, while the 5-speed AMT is offered as an option. The Ignis diesel will return a mileage of 26.80kmpl with the weight about 840 kilograms to 980 kilograms.
Ignis Variants and Features:
The Ignis to be offered in four trim levels like the Baleno hatchback, Ignis Sigma, Ignis Delta, Ignis Zeta and Ignis Alpha. Suzuki Swift Accessories Brochures Revealed in Japan


The Japanese carmaker, Suzuki has introduced 2017 Swift in Japan and now, the accessories list revealed before its market launch scheduled on 4th January 2017. The 2017 Swift will be offered in two accessory packages, including Elegant Style and Sport Style in Japan.
The Swift elegant style pack is the affordable option compared to Sport Style and available at JPY 1,34,946. The Elegant Style pack offers with the front bumper with chrome applique, fog lamps with Chrome surroundings, stylish fuel cap and chrome tailgate.
Another Sporty Style pack costs JPY 2,86,578 and offers with the additional features like black door mirror caps, front lip spoiler, radiator grille with body colored strip, rear spoiler and door handle cover. The two packages will be sold by Suzuki individually in the Japanese market as both are individually priced.
The global-specific Suzuki Swift measures 3,840mm length, 1695mm width, 1525mm or 1500mm height and wheelbase of 2450mm. The 2017 Suzuki Swift to be available in three petrol engine options, the two engines are the four-cylinder K12C 1.2-litre Dualjet engine with or without SHVS. It comes with the three transmission options, 5-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and CVT.
The advanced features offered in the 2017 Swift are 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, C-pillar integrated door handles, six airbags, lane departure warning, flat-bottomed steering wheel, ABS and ESP, Auto smartphone integration, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and navigation.
As per the reports, the global-specific Swift will be previewed at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March 2017. In India, it will launch in this year only along with its sister car, 2017 Swift Dzire.
