Four Maruti Suzuki models to be manufactured at Suzuki’s Gujarat plant

According to the fresh reports from the various automotive sources, the Indian biggest carmaker’s four models to be manufactured at the parent company’s Gujarat plant. The four models from Maruti Suzuki are Baleno, Ignis (upcoming crossover), 2017 Swift Dzire and 2017 Swift. The production at the Suzuki’s plant in Mehsana will start in January 2017 with the production capacity of 2,50,000 units per year. The production will be started with the Maruti Baleno, followed by Ignis, Swift and Swift Dzire.

Maruti Baleno:

Launched around one year back, the Baleno is available with the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol and 4-cylinder 1.3-litre turbocharged diesel engines with manual and CVT options. The Maruti Baleno RS will be introduced with the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine to increase the performance of the vehicle.

Maruti Ignis:

The Ignis will be the upcoming crossover that is expected to be available with the 1.3-litre diesel and 1.2-litre petrol engines. The new car will most probably launch in the early months of the next year and compete with the Mahindra KUV 100. The Maruti Ignis diesel will be offered by the SHVS mild hybrid system to give the best mileage.

2017 Maruti Swift Dzire:

The development and testing of the next-gen Swift Dzire commenced in the Indian market. The total details, including the engines, transmissions, equipment, as well to be disclosed soon. As per the reports, the 2017 Swift Dzire could be introduced in the second of 2017.

Based on the reports, the all-new 2017 Swift will get the Baleno hatchback’s platform and evolutionary makeover for an aggressive look. The new model will attend the 2017 Geneva Motor Show for the world premiere. The current petrol engine could be offered with the Suzuki’s mild hybrid system, but the company is working on the new diesel engine for 2017  Maruti Swift.
