Volkswagen Vento gets powerful 1.5-litre TDI engine


Volkswagen India has released its best-selling sedan, Volkswagen Vento with the powerful diesel engine in the Indian market without any official announcement. The updated model also gets the new exterior color along with the 110PS 1.5-litre TDI engine, which was also used in the latest Volkswagen Group models, Volkswagen Ameo and Skoda Rapid facelift.

The 4-cylinder turbocharged engine delivers 110PS (108.45 hp) power at 4000rpm and the torque of 250Nm at 1,500rpm. The diesel engine supported for both 5-speed manual and 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmissions.
The new Vento TDI with the 5-speed manual gearbox returns the ARAI approved fuel economy of 22.27kmpl, whereas the Vento TDI DSG is rated at 22.15kmpl. Currently, the Volkswagen Vento also available with the four-cylinder, 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine, which returns 105PS power at 5,250 rpm and the torque of 153Nm at 3,800 rpm with the support of 5-speed manual gearbox.
Moreover, the Vento is also available with the four-cylinder, 1.2-litre TSI turbocharged engine that is mated to the automatic gearbox of 7-speed DSG dual-clutch. The Vento TSI is rated at 105PS (103.52hp) of power and 175Nm torque at 1500 to 4100 rpm.
The new Vento gets the updates from the Volkswagen Ameo car, so it is offered in new exterior color of Blue Silk. Now, the sedan is offered in six colors, Reflex Silver, Toffee Brown, Candy White, Carbon Steel and Titanium Beige. The Volkswagen Vento sedan is priced at Rs. 8,16,400 on the base variant in ex-showroom of Delhi.
