The 2017 Suzuki Swift (next-generation Maruti Swift) has launched in the Japanese market and the model will go on sale from 4thJanuary 2017. The company has tested the 2017 Swift for several times in the different places and finally unveiled it before at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
The global-specific Suzuki Swift gets the evolutionary redesign, design layouts and angular front fascia and rear fascia. With the new features, the fourth generation Swift model has a little more mature look compared to the previous generation models. The new Swift measures 3,840mm of length, 1,695mm of width, 1500 or 1525mm of height and 2450mm of wheelbase.
Being a new generation model, the Swift features the revamped interior with the flat-bottomed steering wheel, 3-spoke multifunction wheel, redesigned dashboard, HVAC vents, centre console, instrument panel, central tunnel, as well. Coming to the advanced features, the Swift comes with the new infotainment system included in the dashboard, Android Auto Smartphone and Apple CarPlay.
The next-generation Swift to be featured the three powertrain options. It is powered by the four-cylinder 1.2-litre K12C petrol engine rated at 67PS of power and 118Nm of torque. It will also be offered in the mild-hybrid variant with the WA05A electric motor that produces 3.1PS of power and 50Nm of torque. The third engine is the three-cylinder, K10C 1.0-litre petrol one with the output of 102PS power and 150Nm torque.
The Suzuki Swift will be offered with the standard transmissions of 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and an optional CVT. The 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol and 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol with mild-hybrid to get the four-wheel drive system, whereas the 1.0-litre petrol is offered only in the two-wheel drive system.
The Suzuki Swift will most probably debut at the upcoming 2017 Geneva Motor Show in March 2017. The India-specific Maruti Swift will introduce in the next year, along with its sister next-gen Swift Dzire. Both next-generation Swift family models to be produced from the Suzuki’s new Gujarat plant that will officially start in February 2017.
