Maruti Suzuki has reported that the Vitara Brezza has received the 1.72 lakh bookings in just eight months in the country. The new compact SUV from the Indian carmaker has been launched in March 2016 and offered only in diesel variants. In the duration of eight months, the company has delivered 65,000 Vitara Brezzas to the customers.
In the country, for the first time, Maruti Suzuki has achieved such kind of a feat for Vitara Breeza in the segment of utility vehicles. There is no surprise at all as the compact SUV segment has high-level of interest in the passenger car market. In the previous months, it has reported almost three-digit percentage growth in the UV segment.
Currently, the Vitara Brezza is the best-selling UV in the country and priced between Rs. 7.4lakhs to Rs. 9.90lakhs in ex-showroom Delhi. Being a diesel car, it is powered by the 4-cylinder 1.3-litre DDiS engine that generates maximum output of 90PS power at 4,000rpm and 200Nm torque at 1750rpm. As per the reports, the Vitara Brezza petrol reported to introduce in May 2017 whereas the AMT option to be equivalent to the Swift Dzire AMT.
The model has received the waiting period in the country along with the Baleno hatchback so that Maruti Suzuki has postponed the upcoming car launches, including Maruti Ignis and Maruti Baleno RS. Besides, the carmaker has also increased the production capacity due to the demand compared to other vehicles. In addition, the compact SUV has also launched in Nepal and has been previewed in Indonesia.
