The utility vehicle maker,
Mahindra has been launched the Scorpio Intelli-Hybrid version based on the
top-end variant, Scorpio S10 2WD. The Scorpio hybrid version is priced at Rs.
12.84 lakh in ex-showroom of Navi Mumbai. The new Scorpio model has reduced its
fuel consumption by up to 7 percent and continued with the same diesel engine
of 2.2L mHawk, which is paired to the standard manual gearbox.
The current selling models of
Scorpio featured with the Mahindra’s micro hybrid system that includes basic
auto start and stop feature. Now, the Scorpio models with 2.2litre mHawk engine
offered with the Intelli-hybrid. The top to lower versions are S10 4WD, S10
2WD, S8, S6+, S4+ 4Wd, S4+ and S4.
The Scorpio 1.99l mHawk models
specially designed for Delhi NCR, Scorpio automatic and base version S2 with
the 2.5-litre m2DICR engine, are not featured the new Intelli-hybrid system,
which features brake energy recuperation, auto start and stop, a starter motor,
a larger battery with high capacity. The starter motor works as an alternator
or a motor to give a little bit of electric boost in driving condition.
The Intelli-Hybrid system is the
best advantage for the Mahindra Scorpio to increase the product range or SUV
range in the market. The company has taken the tax incentives from the National
Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) with the Intelli-Hybrid system.
Moreover, the diesel powered Scorpio Intelli-Hybrid models exempted from the National
Green Tribunal (NGT)’s order. The remaining list of
specifications, in terms of interior design, exterior, and equipment borrow
from the existed models.
