SsangYong Tivoli (Mahindra Tivoli) Spied in Chennai

The Korean manufacturer’s SsangYong Tivoli has been spotted with the totally covered exterior in Chennai for the performance testing. The compact SUV has already showcased in the Indian market at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 along with the Mahindra cars. A few months back, Mahindra has confirmed that the company is evaluating the launch of the Tivoli in the Indian market. Till the date, there is no official announcement from the company regarding the Tivoli launch.

Being a Korean based product, the Tivoli gets the best response from the aspiration buyers in South Korea. Recently, the same product has been launched in Nepal at NPR 5,375,000, approximately Rs. 33.66lakhs. If the parent company, Mahindra launched the Tivoli, the Korean product range to be expanded in the domestic market and the product is to be available with the existed SsangYong models, Rexton, Korando, as well.

The SsangYong Tivoli is expected to be offered in petrol and diesel variants along with the higher capacity engines. The petrol based cars will be powered by the 1.6L e-XGi160 engine with the capacity of 126PS power and 160Nm torque. The diesel versions would pack a turbocharged 1.6L e-XDi160 engine that outputs 115PS power and 300Nm.

The Tivoli is estimated to be offered with the two transmission options, such as 6-speed MT and 6-speed automatic gearbox. The global-specific Tivoli is available with the 4 wheel drive system as an optional feature, but the same drive system may not be included in the list of Indian-specific SsangYong (Mahindra) Tivoli.

The Tivoli SUV measures 4.2metre long and features the all-new monocoque platform, 18-inch diamond shaped alloy wheels, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, dual zone climate control, as well. If launched, the Tivoli is expected to be assembled at the Mahindra’s facility. Consequently, the upcoming Tivoli compact SUV is to be available at the reasonable price of Rs. 15-17Lakhs.
