Upcoming India-bound Volkswagen Tiguan SUV introduced in the UK

The much-awaited Indian model, Volkswagen Tiguan has launched in the UK market with the opening price of £22,510, equal to Rs. 20.44 lakh. The Tiguan is the entry-level SUV in the Indian market and likely to be designed based on the new MQB platform. Just a few days back, the India-bound Volkswagen SUV has attended the Euro NCAP crash test and received 5- star rating in terms of safety. The carmaker has showcased this SUV at the 2015 international Frankfort motor show for the first time. After, the same model has been made its introduction in the Indian market at the Delhi Motor Show (2016 Auto Expo) in February 2016.

Volkswagen Tiguan Dimensions:

The upcoming Volkswagen SUV will be increased its length by 60mm, width by 30mm, wheelbase by 77mm to 2681mm than its previous model. While, the height of the new-gen Tiguan is reduced by 33mm.

The second generation car features the additional effects, specifications, safety-based drive systems, special design cues, as well. The first generation car has higher demand in the European market so that the Indian-bound new car also launched in the respective market. It will be available with the seven airbags, safety headrests, collision braking system, electronic stability control and brake assist for the safety purpose.

Volkswagen Tiguan Specifications:

The Tiguan SUV will be offered in two diesel and two petrol engines in the international market. The diesel variants get the 1.6-litre diesel engine with the 114bhp power capacity and the 2.0-litre diesel motor with the three output capacities, 148bhp, 178bhp and 217bhp. Speaking about the petrol variants, the Tiguan comes with the turbocharged 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre engines. The German carmaker expected to be introduced only diesel versions in the Indian market.

The small engine featured Tiguan will get the FWD - forward wheel drive system whereas, the higher engine models to be offered with the four-wheel drive system.
