Economic Times reported that the largest Indian car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has postponed the launch of its upcoming car, Maruti Ignis in the Indian market due to meet the demands of Baleno and Vitara Brezza. As per the reports, the launch of Ignis small crossover suspended by three to six months as both models together received 1 lakh bookings in India. The Ignis car will launch in 2017 instead of introducing in the festival period. Familiar with the reports, the upcoming crossover has scheduled to start its production in the last week of September 2016 as well as introduce in the last week of November 2016.

Before launching the new product (car), the carmaker has decided to clear the pending booking orders of the Vitara Brezza and Baleno by increasing the production capacity. That’s why the company has taken this decision on the Ignis launch. If launched, the new crossover is expected to be accounted for 60,000 to 80,000 units in a year. This is respectable for the company even though, Maruti Suzuki has that much of the production capacity at the manufacturing units, according to vendors of MSIL.

The Baleno premium hatchback has been launched in the end of October 2015 and the Vitara Brezza is available in India from March 2016. Baleno is playing a significant role in the premium hatchback segment and accounted for more than 1lakh sales along with the S-Cross in the one year period of Nexa Network. In the report, they didn’t discuss the launch of Baleno RS, showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo with the performance oriented 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine.

Being a first compact SUV (high demandable segment in the country) from the biggest Indian carmaker, the Vitara Brezza has received the waiting period of six to nine months based on the model version and location. In addition, the fire accident at the Subros, service provider of Maruti Suzuki, influenced the company’s production in India.
