The candy white colored diesel variant
of Volkswagen Ameo has been spied in Maharashtra for the overall testing,
including engine, performance, as well, according to the report from carwale. Volkswagen
Ameo is newly introduced with the petrol engine in the Indian market and now,
the German carmaker plans to launch the diesel variants.
As per the reports, the Ameo
diesel models will introduce with the new 1.5-litre diesel engine to increase
the performance of the vehicle. In fact, the 1.5-litre engine has been
introduced in 2014 in the Indian-specific Polo and Vento models. In the
present, the company is working on the new generation 1.5-litre engine, which will
be rated 108bhp of power and 230Nm of torque. Whereas the predecessor generates
89bhp of power in the Polo and 103bhp in the Vento sedan and 230Nm.
Being a German-engineering based
car, the Ameo diesel will get the 5-speed manual gearbox and 7-speed DSG
options. Ameo is the first sub-4metre sedan from Volkswagen in India and specially
designed for the Indian customers. The diesel variants expected to launch in
the coming festival period with an aggressive price tag.
Speaking about the design, it
comes with the Polo based platform with the attractive design of exterior colored
bumpers and interior equipment. The standard features like cabin, upholstery,
infotainment system, etc received from the Indian-bound Polo hatchback and
Vento cars.
Volkswagen has been introduced
the special Ameo service packages, Volkswagen Care and Volkswagen CarePlus with
3years and 4years of warranty. Moreover, the Ameo customers get road-side
assistance, 24x7 support and free inspection services. The packages will be
applied to the diesel versions of the compact sedan, which is offered in five
colors, Toffee Brown, Candy White, Blue Silk, Carbon Steel and Reflex Silver.
