5 things to know about upcoming Maruti Baleno RS


The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is the Indian-made premium hatchback giving tough competition to the Hyundai Elite i20, which is the best-selling hatchback in the country. Now, the performance based model, Baleno RS is readying to enter the market. The largest carmaker has already showcased the Baleno RS concept at the Delhi Auto Expo in February 2016. Besides, the production-ready version has been exposed for several times with the partially covered body.
New 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine:
The Baleno RS is to be offered by the three-cylinder petrol engine, which returns the power output of 111hp and the maximum torque of 170Nm. The engine has also introduced in the global-specific Baleno and mated with the six-speed automatic and 5-speed manual transmission. Till the date, there is no confirmation regarding which gearbox (transmission) will offer in the Indian market.
Safety Features:
Along with the boosting performance, the Baleno RS also gets the additional safety kit of disc brakes on all wheels and the equipment of ABS and dual airbags are the standard features on all variants. As of now, the Abarth Punto is the only hatchback in the country offered with the all-wheel disc brakes.  
Exterior changes:
Maruti Suzuki has discontinued the black exterior color from its product range but, the test model has been spotted with the sport black body paint. It is expected to feature the new alloy wheels seen in the video shouted by the automotive sources. The Baleno RS will feature the optional body kit for the aspirational customers.
Features:
The Baleno RS will get the advanced tech-based features like the auto headlamps and wipers, bi-xenon projector headlamps, infotainment system with the touchscreen and navigation, keyless entry, auto dimming IRVM, electrically folding and adjustable outside rear view mirrors and reverse camera with parking sensors.
Little-bit price than Baleno petrol:
With the turbocharged engine and the safety kit, the Baleno RS will be offered at the high cost than the regular Baleno petrol, which is available with the 1.2-litre petrol engine. The Baleno RS will target the performance based version, Volkswagen Polo GT.
