Autocar India reported that the special edition of the Volkswagen Polo hatchback, alias Volkswagen Polo Allstar to launch in the Indian market soon. The new edition has been showcased for the first time in the international market in December 2015 to promote the football tournament of 2016 UEFA European Championship. The total 10 models of Volkswagen, including Polo Allstar, has been showcased in the event of football tournament.
The international-specific Polo Allstar features the headlamp washers, new design alloy wheels, B-pillar with the Allstar badging and fog lamps. The inside of the Polo Allstar features heated seats, automatic climate control, and other latest equipment.
For the Indian market, the Polo Allstar will most probably offer with the regular petrol and diesel engine options and the standard manual gearbox. The current Polo hatchback is available with the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel and 1.2-litre 3-cylinder MPi petrol engines.
Few months back, the special edition has spotted with the new alloy wheel design and unique badging. According to the sources, the Polo Allstar will feature the new paint shades and the name badge on the exterior and interior equipment. Like theVolkswagen Ameo, the Polo Allstar will be offered in the Blue Silk shade and expected to hit the showrooms soon.
Apart from this, the German carmaker is working on the 1.5-litre TDI turbocharged engine for the Indian market with the output range of 105 PS to 108 PS. The engine will be reportedly offered in the Indian-specific model range, Polo, Vento, Ameo and the Skoda Rapid.
