Sources reported that the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS will be launched in the festival month of November 2016 in the Indian market. The company has confirmed that the performance-based hatchback will launch before the end of this year, but they don’t disclose the exact date. The Baleno RS is one of the variants of the current selling Baleno premium hatchback in India and already confirmed for the domestic market.
The Baleno RS has been previewed at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo with the highly efficient 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine, which is the first all-new turbocharged petrol engine from the Indian carmaker Maruti Suzuki. In terms of the mechanical specifications, the Indian-specific Baleno RS is similar to the global-specific Baleno, which was rated at 110hp of power and 170Nm of torque. The Baleno RS is available with the two types of gearboxes, 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.
Coming to the features, the Baleno RS is to be offered with the sporty front bumper, wider radiator intake, mesh-pattern grille, black coated alloy wheels, roof spoiler, side skirts and a latest rear bumper. Mostly the RS variant is also similar to the existed Baleno and the model will target the existing performance based hatchbacks, Fiat Punto Abarth and Volkswagen Polo GT TSI.
The Baleno RS will be priced a little bit higher than the existing Baleno price range of Rs. 5.34L to Rs. 8.57L (ex-showroom, Hyderabad). The customers expected that the Baleno RS will be available in regular seven colors, Ray Blue, Granite Grey, Autumn Orange, as well.
