According to the fresh reports, the Mahindra Scorpio 1.99L is now offered with the Intelli-Hybrid system and the model is expected to cost around Rs. 9.35lakhs on the base variant in ex-showroom of Delhi. Mahindra Scorpio 1.99-litre is especially available in the Delhi and NCR regions due to the ban of over 2000cc diesel vehicle’s registration. To overcome the disaster, Mahindra has been introduced the regular Scorpio with the downsized engine.
The 1.99-litre mHawk engine is available in the Scorpio variants of S4, S4+, S6+, S8 and S10 and now the Intelli-hybrid technology is offered on all trims. With the hybrid system, the buyers will get the five percent of concessional VAT that is equal to get the benefit of just Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 90,000 price based on the trim. As per the report, the base variant to reduce its price around Rs. 64,000 under the tax incentive offered by the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP).
The Scorpio Hybrid is powered by the 1997cc mHawk turbo diesel engine with the maximum output of 120PS power and 140Nm torque. While the 2.2-litre engine generates the similar outputs in the regular Scorpio. The small engine based Scorpio is available in the single drive system of front-wheel drive, but the Scorpio 2.2-litre is offered in 2WD and 4WD drive systems.
The Scorpio automatic variants are not offered with the Intelli-hybrid, which comprises brake energy recuperation, start-stop and a larger capacity battery. Additionally, the starter motor is featured by Scorpio hybrid and working as an alternator as well as a motor to provide the mild electrical boost depending on the driving conditions. The hybrid car is claimed to reduce up to 7 percent fuel consumption than the regular ones.
Mahindra will most probably introduce the same hybrid system on its product’s range in the future after reviewing the response rate of Scorpio 1.99l Intelli-hybrid in Delhi.
