Maruti Suzuki launches Super Carry LCV in India

The biggest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has made its entry in the commercial vehicle segment with the Super Carry light commercial vehicle. The company is to launch its first LCV in the Indian market in phases. The company is planning to introduce the first LCV in the five places of Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Haryana, Ludhiana and Rajasthan in the first phase, according to T Hashimoto, ED of Maruti Suzuki (marketing and sales).
At first, Maruti Suzuki will observe the movement of the first LCV Super Carry in the five places in the first phase. Based on the report, the company will think that of the introduction of LCV in the remaining places. The Super carry is the first vehicle in the LCV segment, where Mahindra and Tata Motors are the major players in India.
The Super Carry is being manufactured at the company’s Gurgaon plant and the model was specially designed for the Indian customers. Besides, the model is expected to be rolled out in the next financial year. According to R S Kalsi, ED of MSI, Maruti Suzuki will start a separate delivery channel for the LCV in India like the Nexa network. Currently, the Indian carmaker is to appoint 50 dealers for Super Carry sales in the five states.
Apart from this, the manufacturer has decided to increase the production capacity. The company’s combined production capacity of Gujarat, Manesar and Gurgaon plants is 22.5 lakh. Consequently, the each manufacturing unit has the production capacity of 7.5lakhs on an average basis.
