Porsche reveals Panamera 4 E-Hybrid ahead of Paris debut


Porsche carmaker has unveiled the technically advanced new car, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid before the Paris motor show. Two months back, the carmaker has unveiled the new Panamera models, such as Panamera 4S, 4S Diesel and Turbo. The E-Hybrid variant is the fourth model and one of the two petrol-electric hybrid cars, which planned to add in the line-up of new Panamera models.
The four-wheel drive is powered by the recently developed petrol-electric drivetrain, which is also offered in the upcoming Cayenne E-Hybrid scheduled to launch in the next year. This variant is available with the company’s twin-turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 petrol motor, which has the capacity to generate the maximum power of 330hp and the torque of 450Nm. The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid’s petrol engine combined with the electric motor that returns additional outputs of 136bhp and around 400Nm torque. Both engine and electric motor together generate the total power output of 462bhp and the torque of 699Nm.
                                  
The second generation Panamera models offered with the multi-plate 4-wheel drive system and the 8-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The company has totally six different drive modes, Sport, and Sport Plus under the category of the Sport Chrono package and the E-Hybrid specific contains four different modes, E-Power, Hybrid Auto, E-Charge and E-Hold.
The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid claims the full electric range of 50km at the speed range of 140kmp with the fully charged liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery. Using the standard 3.6kW charger, the battery can be charged in 5.8 hours, but the 7.2kW charger has claimed to reduce the charging time around 3.6 hours. The car is also available with an auxiliary air-conditioner, which helps to cool the battery during the charging.
Speaking about the features, the Panamera 4 electric-hybrid comes with the 12.3-inch touchscreen display, boost assistance to display the available energy for boosting the performance through the electric motors and the hybrid assistance that provides the detailed information on how to control the regular electric drive for the maximum economy or mileage.
The new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is to attend the upcoming Paris motor show and expected to be released in the international market in the first quarter of the next fiscal or April 2017.
