Audi A4 35 TDI Diesel Spied in India


The diesel variant of the Audi A4 has spied on the Indian roads without any exterior cover, according to the spy shots acquired by Thrust zone. The Audi A4 35 TDI diesel car is expected to introduce in the early months of the next year. The diesel versions might be featured the additional specifications for best appearance.
Currently, the petrol versions of the Audi A4 are available in the Indian market and offered in the price range of Rs. 38.1lakhs to Rs. 41.20lakhs. The petrol car powered by the 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engine that is rated the power of 150PS (110kW) and the torque of 250Nm. The petrol engine paired with the 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox, which is the standard transmission on the Audi A4. The luxury sedan claimed the mileage of 17.85kmpl.

The diesel car will be featured the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine, which has capable of 140kW (190 PS) power and the torque of 400Nm. The Euro-specific model available with the same 2.0-litre engine and 7-speed S-Tronic transmission. The new A4 sedan features the new MLB Evo platform, which will influence the car to return the better economy compared to its predecessor.
Similar to the petrol versions, the diesel car will be equipped with the Virtual Cockpit Display, LED Tail lamps, LED Headlights, Audi MMI System with the display units of 8.3-inches, Andriod auto support, Apple CarPlay, power adjustable seats, 10-speaker Audi sound system, tri-zone climate control, as well.  
The Audi A4 diesel car to be priced similar to the A4 petrol cars in India and launched in the next year to target the luxury diesel cars.

India-bound Maruti S-Cross facelift to launch in H2 of 2017


The Japanese carmaker, Suzuki has already unveiled the updated S-Cross earlier this year and it was also previewed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The Indian carmaker plans to launch the S-Cross facelift in the country by the end of 2017. Currently, Maruti Suzuki’s premium network of Nexa sells the S-Cross crossover in India with the best-in-class premium services.
As per the earlier reports, the front end of the crossover features the redesigned bumper, all-new upright grille with the vertical slats, new projector headlamps and the larger radiator grille. The interior of the car gets the number of changes, including the new interior color combinations, redesigned instrument cluster with the new MID, new seat upholstery with the different colored stitching and the new dashboard.
In the global market, the S-Cross is offered with the 1.6-litre diesel and petrol engine options along with the high-efficient 1.4-litre BoosterJet petrol engine. The mechanical specifications of the S-Cross facelift are not shared by the company, but it will be sold with the same 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines available in the existing S-Cross.
Along with this, Maruti Suzuki is also planning to launch the Baleno RS, Maruti Ignis, Baleno SHVS and Vitara Brezza petrol in the country. Moreover, the passenger car manufacturer is working on the all-new Swift Dzire and next-generation Swift for the future customers.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis (Upcoming Micro SUV) Spied Again


The production version of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ignis has been spied again with the black colored body cover on the Indian roads. The upcoming Maruti Suzuki micro SUV has been showcased first at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. The model was previously unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show as a Suzuki Ignis, which was launched in the Japanese market. Very recently, the Suzuki Ignis has also made its introduction at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
The Maruti Suzuki Ignis is derived from the company’s i-M4 concept and featured the various kinds of engines differ from the Suzuki Ignis mechanical specifications. The Indian carmaker has planned to launch the Ignis in India as soon as possible, but its launch to be postponed as the Vitara Brezza and Baleno model have currently more demand in the country.
The R&D team already started the testing of Ignis, which is the entry-level sub-4metre crossover from Maruti Suzuki. As per the news, it will be retailed through the premium NEXA network that offers the first rate experience to the customers via the existing products Baleno and S-Cross.
The Maruti Ignis will get the 1.2-litre K-series petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines rated at 83bhp and 75PS outputs respectively. The SHVS mild hybrid system will be featured in the Ignis to return the best fuel economy.
The Ignis crossover will be priced in the range of Rs. 5.6lakhs to Rs. 7.2lakhs and targeted the Renault Kwid, Mahindra KUV 100, as well models in terms of size, appearance and features.

Volkswagen Polo GTI to launch in India by mid-November


CarAndBike Team has reported that the launch details of the upcoming Volkswagen Polo GTI are confirmed and the performance hatchback will be scheduled to launch in the country by mid-November. The Polo GTI is the most-awaited performance hatchback for the Indian potential customers and planned to hit the showrooms as soon as possible.
The Volkswagen Polo GTI has been previewed in the country for the first time at the 2016 Auto Expo and also spotted for the overall testing in the numerous locations. Audi confirms e-tron name for next-gen all-electric SUV


The Volkswagen Group’s luxury car company, Audi has been chosen the e-tron name for the future electric car and the name will not be decided based on any specific model. Audi has confirmed this name to remind the original Quattro launched in 1980.  The luxury car maker has showcased the e-tron Quattro concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show (2015).
The electric SUV is one of the three models planned by the luxury carmaker to launch in the electric segment by 2020 and the remaining two are the large saloon and smaller hatchback.  The company will introduce the upcoming models with the usual names like A8 e-tron, A7 e-tron, A6, e-tron, etc. There is no link to the existing models and Audi is working on the up-market electric powered model to target the Tesla Model S. As per the company, the future electric car to be positioned in the top place with the new Driveline technology.
Audi plans to introduce the compact electric cars within the range between 350km to 450km, the additional safety features, improved interior design, as well. The complete details to be revealed in the coming days, but the industry expected that the new electric car will get the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, showcased at the Paris Motor show.
With the new platform, drive technology and additional features, the upcoming electric SUV will challenge the existing luxury electric SUVs, Tesla Model X, etc.

EPCA to ban sales of BS-III vehicles in India from April 2017


The EPCA - Environment Protection Control Authority has proposed that the sales of BS-III vehicles to be stopped in the country from April 2017. The Indian automotive industry is planning to introduce the new emission norms in the domestic market soon, now the organisation has made the amazing suggestion. The Indian government and Indian auto industry don’t want to take these kinds of steps, but that would create massive disorder. By the way, the Indian automakers to produce the vehicles that meet BS-IV emission norms, from April 2017. Besides, the Bharat Stage VI (BS-VI) emission norm to be implemented in India-made vehicles from 2020 and this BS VI morn is similar to Euro 5 norms.
In the country, air pollution has caused major concern for the courts and government. More than 2000cc diesel vehicles banned for around 8 months in Delhi-NCR and after that, it was withdrawn to implement the green cess. Moreover, the Delhi odd-even rules implemented in two phases to control the air pollution levels in the national capital regions. In Haryana and Kerala states, 10-year-old vehicles banned, whereas the 15 years old petrol vehicles are also banned in Haryana.
Such kind of rules were disturbed the automakers so that the government plans for the permanent solutions to control the fuel powered vehicles. The Government of India is encouraging all automakers as well as customers to opt for the eco-friendly hybrid and electric cars. Additionally, the government is offering the subsidy amount on the hybrid and electric cars under the FAME scheme. Some of the Indian automakers have made their entries in the hybrid and electric vehicle segments. Mahindra made its entry with the e2o and e-Verito whereas Maruti Suzuki with the Ciaz Hybrid and Ertiga Hybrid. Volkswagen has confirmed that its electric cars to be introduced in the country by the end of this decade.

Maruti Suzuki introduces Baleno SHVS mild hybrid by next year



The latest automotive reports stated that the Baleno SHVS mild hybrid system to be launched in the Indian market by the next year. On the other hand, some of the reports indicated that the Baleno mild hybrid system may be considered for the Indian market, but on sale in export markets. There is no proper news from the Indian carmaker regarding the Baleno hybrid, but the highest percentage of the company’s stakeholders expected that it will come to India soon.
The company has already started the production of Baleno SHVS at the company’s Manesar plant for export markets. In the right-hand drive markets like Japan, United Kingdom and Australia, the Baleno offers with the Mild Hybrid (SHVS) system. Whereas the European markets to get the Baleno SHVS tech along with the 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine.
As per the reports, there are no instantaneous plans to launch the Baleno SHVS in India, while the technology can be updated for the Indian version. The production capacity of Baleno increases in the future with the new production plant in Gujarat so that the waiting period of Baleno will be reduced. Currently, the Baleno is manufactured at the full capacity of 10,000 to 12,000 units at the Manesar plant. Maruti has planned that the new Gujarat plant will make around 10,000 units in the period of Mid-February 2017 to March 2017.
In the Indian market, the SHVS system offered in the diesel variants of Maruti Ciaz and Maruti Ertiga models. Consequently, the company might consider the mild hybrid system on the Baleno diesel for enhancing the fuel efficiency and reducing emissions.
In India, there is a greater benefit that is the hybrid and electric cars get the subsidy from the government FAME initiative. The SHVS qualified for the subsidy and the Ertiga and Ciaz cars are available with the subsidy amount of Rs.13,000 on the hybrid variants. In general, the government offers the marginal reduction of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 on the hybrid cars.
Introducing the SHVS on the Maruti Suzuki models to increase the fuel-efficiency, Ciaz hybrid achieved the mileage of 28.09kmpl. The Baleno diesel returns the mileage of 27.39kmpl and the addition of SHVS, it will command the best-in-class mileage.

The India-made Baleno and the upcoming Ignis models nominated for the World Car of the year award in the category of World Urban Car of the year. The winners to be declared on the occasion of New York International Auto Show on 13th April 2017. For the nomination of the urban car category, the car will be designed under the sub-4metre length and must be introduced in two continents by the fiscal end.
The Baleno premium hatchback and Ignis measure the overall length of 3995mm and 3700mm respectively. Baleno has already exported to the European countries and Japan, whereas the Ignis has already available in the Japanese market and to be launched in the early next year. Ignis has showcased at the Paris Motor Show so that both models qualified for the World Car of the Year.
In the same urban car category, the BMW i3, Ford KA+ (available as Ford Figo in India), Smart Brabus range and two citrons – the C3 and the E-Mehari are also selected. The administration of the association will conduct a series of tests, drives, voting, as well as for the nominated cars in the coming five months.
The India-specific Baleno is offered in diesel and petrol variants and the engine options are 1.3-litre 75bhp diesel engine and 1.2-litre 84bhp petrol engine. Maruti to launch Vitara Brezza petrol by May 2017


The latest report from the automotive sources is the Indian biggest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki to launch the petrol variants of the currently available Vitara Brezza by May 2017 in the country. Nearly over a year after the introduction of diesel variants, the Vitara Brezza petrol variants will hit the showrooms. Maruti Suzuki has already confirmed that the petrol variants are under development stage, but the introduction will take time as the demand for the Brezza diesel is high on some variants in some cities.
The first engine option of the Brezza petrol is the Maruti Suzuki’s new 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine, which will also be introduced in the upgraded models of S-Cross and Ciaz by the next year. The new 1.5-litre engine will replace the currently available 1.2-litre engine on the Maruti cars and place the Brezza petrol in the higher tax slab.
Some of the reports indicate that the engine powering the new compact SUV will be the locally manufactured 1.0-litre three-cylinder BoosterJet engine, which will make its introduction in the country in the Maruti Baleno RS in the coming months. The 5-speed manual gearbox is offered as the standard transmission and mated to whatever the engine offered in the Vitara Brezza. Besides, the automatic variants of Brezza confirmed by Suzuki at the Indonesian auto show in August. There is no news the Vitara Brezza will introduce with the automatic gearbox or not in the Indian market.
Being an entry level Maruti car in the highly demanding compact SUV segment, the Vitara Brezza has already crossed the sales mark of 50,000 units. The company expects that the introduction of petrol variants to increase the demand of the sub-4metre SUV among the existing best-selling compact SUVs like Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Creta and Mahindra TUV300.
