The Indo-Japanese carmaker’s Baleno premium hatchback has crossed its 1 lakh unit’s sales mark in the domestic market. TheMaruti Suzuki Baleno has launched around one year back in India with the global standard design and performance. It has been moving as one of the top-selling passenger cars in the country and the product has demand in the global markets, including Europe and Japan.
As per the report, the company has exported around 33,800 Baleno cars to the global markets from India and the model has planned for the 100 international markets. Along with the Suzuki’s home market (Japan), the premium hatchback is being exported to Latin America, New Zealand and Australia.
Baleno is the first Maruti car imported by Suzuki and offered by the highly potent 1.0-litre Boosterjet (turbocharged) petrol engine for the global markets. Right now, the Indian carmaker plans to launch the Baleno with the powerful engine in the domestic market, to be exact Baleno RS. Along with the powerful engine, the Baleno RS will get the special design effects in terms of interior equipment.
The Baleno is the perfect representation of Make-in-India and available with the best-in-class safety features. Being a new model, it gives a tough competition to the Hyundai i20 that was launched in August 2014. It has already crossed 1 lakh sales mark, even though the model has received the waiting period of 4 to 6 months due to the high demand.
The company is expecting that the orders for Baleno will be increased in the month of November 2016 due to the Diwali season. On the special moment, RS Kalsi, ED of Maruti Suzuki responded and said very thankful for the customers. The company has optimised its production, so that the deliveries of Baleno will be commenced in the timeframe, according to Kalsi.
Being a premium car, the Baleno has sold through the Nexa outlets along with the Maruti S-Cross crossover. In fact, the Maruti hatchback has increased the premium network range in the country with the highest sales. The Baleno RS is likely to hit the showrooms in soon, but there is no proper information in the industry.
