The country’s biggest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has announced its sales structure and reported 29.4 percent of sales growth in the domestic market with 1,37,321 sales units in the last month. On the behalf of ongoing festival season, the Maruti Suzuki cars accounted for more demand in the Indian market. Total sales in the last month (September 2016) are 1,49,143 units and representing the growth of 31.1% compared to the year-ago period sales.
In the last month, the company has received the highest domestic sales in terms of total volumes. Besides, all segments, including mini cars, compact cars, super compact cars, as well credited with the double-digit sales growth. The segment of mini cars increased to 44,395 units of sales with the Alto and Wagon R and represented 24.8% growth against the previous month of the last year sales were 35,570 units.
With the Celerio, Swift, Baleno, Ritz and Swift Dzire, the sales of the compact car segment is increased by 12.3% to 50,324 units. The Ciaz SHVS (Ciaz Hybrid) has more demand in the country so that the midsize sedan segment increased by 52.5% to 6,544 units. The sales of utility vehicles, including Vitara Brezza, S-Cross, Gypsy and Ertiga Hybrid, increased to 18,423 units and representing triple-digit growth of 191% in the last month compared to the sales in September 2015 (6,331 units).
An introduction of the Vitara Brezza in the compact SUV segment is the advantage to gain the highest domestic sales in the last month. The Super Carry is the entry level commercial vehicle from Maruti Suzuki and delivered to the 44 customers in India in the last month.
Until the September, the carmaker has sold 7,66,913 units in domestic and export markets in this fiscal and posted 10.4% growth against 6,94,664 units in the last fiscal.
