Volkswagen India Sales Up 22% in September 2016

The German car manufacturer, Volkswagen has sold a total of 3,929 units in the last month and reported the growth of 22 percent compared to 3,226 units in the month of September 2015. Michael Mayer, director of Volkswagen India (Passenger Cars) responded on the September sales analysis and said that Volkswagen India continues a steady growth and reported the positive sales mark in the country. Being a German based company, it gains the positive sentiment before the festival season with the excellent product portfolio. Currently, the carmaker offers Volkswagen Polo, Polo GT, Vento, Beetle, Jetta, and Ameo models in India.
Ameo is the entry level sub-4metre sedan introduced in India and the model has been developed based on the Polo platform. The new VW compact sedan is particularly designed for the Indian market and launched the petrol versions in the initial page. Just around three to four days back, it has introduced the Ameo diesel (Ameo TDI) and Ameo Automatic (Ameo TDI DSG).
With the introduction of Ameo diesel versions, the company will most probably gain the positive shifts in the customer buying sentiment. If it happens the festival season will be the best market for the company, according to Michael Mayer.
The company’s sales are continuously increasing in the Indian market due to the good monsoon, so that Volkswagen has plans to strengthen its network in India by inaugurating three new dealerships in Malappuram – Kerala, Agra- Uttar Pradesh and Nerul – Maharashtra.
