Top 10 Best Selling Cars in September 2016; Baleno Reports 10,623 Units



The leading car company, Maruti Suzuki has continued its domination in the Indian market with the six models out of top 10 selling cars in the last month. The company’s market share is increased to 49.5 percent with the highest response received for the premium and new models. The September month sales structure is highlighted with the Maruti Suzuki’s six models, out of which the top four positions locked by the Alto, Swift Dzire (sedan), Swift and Wagon R.
Alto is the top 1 selling model with the highest sales of 27,750 units and reported the growth of 34 percent compared to 20,658 units in September 2015. The sub-compact sedan, Swift Dzire has 4 percent decline in the last month and positioned in second place with 18,961 units.
The Swift hatchback encountered 8 percent decline in sales and occupied the third position while the Wagon R small hatchback in fourth place with the 12 percent of sales growth against the year-ago month sales.
Hyundai’s Grand i10 model has occupied the fifth position with the 12,212 units of sales in September 2016 while the company’s Elite i20 hatchback holds eight position with 10, 254 units. The fifth position occupied by the Maruti Suzuki Baleno with sales of 10,623 units in the Indian market. Being a premium hatchback, Baleno has crossed the Hyundai Elite i20, which is one of the best-selling hatchbacks in India.
The Renault Kwid smallest car is reported at 10,558 units and occupied the seventh position. The ninth and tenth places engaged by the utility vehicles, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Creta respectively. With the sales of 9,375 units in September, the Vitara Brezza has crossed the 50,000 unit’s sales mark in just less than seven months.

The Hyundai Creta has launched a year back and played a key role in the compact UV segment with the highest demand in the country. The Hyundai’s UV endured 21 percent sales growth with sales of 8,835 units. Hyundai Company has obtained 15.4 percent market share and placed in the second slot ahead of Mahindra & Mahindra.
This time, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Ciaz hybrid missed out from the list of top 10 selling cars in the month of September 2016. Even though, the list is highlighted with the Maruti Suzuki cars followed by the Hyundai cars.
