Top Fuel Efficient Diesel Cars in India

The huge list of passenger cars available in the Indian market and also the automakers introduced the different types of cars in the country’s automotive space. In India, Maruti Suzuki is the biggest automaker in the car space and offering the variety of diesel and petrol models. Being a leading carmaker, Maruti Suzuki dominates the fuel-efficient segment with the different portfolio.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz (SHVS):
The leading carmaker has tried its influence in the premium category with the Maruti Ciaz. The sedan car became very popular in the very short time. Later, the company introduced the Ciaz sedan with the SHVS mild hybrid system for increasing the performance of the vehicle. Now, the Ciaz SHVS is the top one fuel efficient car in India with the fuel economy of 28.09kmpl. The 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine powers the stylish premium sedan and the engine is capable of 90PS power and 200Nm torque.
The Ciaz SHVS has scored the 4-star rating in the ASEAN NCAP crash test with the safety features like dual front airbags, seat belt pre-tensioner, seat belt reminder and ABS. The Ciaz sedan gets the benefits from the Government under the eco-friendly scheme of FAME and is priced in the range of Rs. 7.68lakh to Rs. 9.49lakh.  
Maruti Suzuki Celerio:

The Celerio hatchback is the second fuel efficient car with the ARAI certified mileage of 27.62kmpl and also one of the best-selling hatchbacks in India. It is powered by the small o.8-litre DDiS diesel engine that generates 47PS power and 125Nm torque and paired to the 5-speed manual transmission. The Celerio is available in the price range between Rs. 4.81lakh to Rs. 5.90lakh.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno:

The third place in the list fuel-efficient cars occupied by the Baleno premium hatchback, which was launched in 2015. It becomes very popular in the country and plays a crucial role among the multiple models with its design and features. The Baleno diesel car is powered by the 1.3-litre DDiS 200 engine and rated as the 27.39kmpl fuel efficiency. The premium hatchback is priced in the range of Rs. 6.33lakh to Rs. 8.32lakh in Delhi ex-showroom.
Honda Jazz:

The Honda Jazz car was launched a couple of years back, but the car didn’t receive the success. So, the company has launched the revised version of Jazz, which has a premium look and stylish design. The new Honda Jazz is available with the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine and rated at the ARAI certified mileage of 27.3kmpl. It is available in the range of Rs. 5.56lakh to Rs. 8.99lakh.
