Mahindra Supro Electric to Launch on October 6, 2016


Mahindra has announced that it plans to launch the first electric van, Mahindra Supro Electric in the Indian market on 6thOctober 2016. The Mahindra e Supro will be available in passenger-carrying and cargo variants for the customers. The passenger-carrying variant of the Supro electric has been disclosed at the motor show of the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi.
At the event of Auto Expo, Mahindra has stated that the Supro electric is to be powered by the 73.2V AC induction motor with the power capacity of 40.2 hp (30kW) at 3,000 rpm and the torque of 90Nm. The passenger-carrying variant to be offered in 8-seat configuration with front disk brakes and rear drum brakes.
The body dimensions of the Mahindra Supro electric is similar to the outgoing one, which measures 3798mm of length, 1540mm of overall width, 1922mm of height and 1590mm of wheelbase. The passenger van was showcased with the 165/70-R13 tubeless tyres at the auto expo event so that it will most probably feature the same tyres.
The appearance of the Supro electric is also similar to the regular one and featured with the five-spoke alloy wheels, chrome grille, blue body graphics and 5-spoken alloy wheels. The website of the FAME India scheme has listed the Supro Cargo van with the Rs. 1.87 lakhs incentive amount. While the e-Supro passenger variant is yet to be launched.
