Porsche launched 2017 911 range models in India



Porsche India has introduced the new 2017 911 range models in the Indian luxury car market at the starting price of Rs. 1.42 crore in Delhi ex-showroom. A total of 10 variants launched based on the two base trims, 911 Carrera and 911 Turbo, which features the renovated engines and new generation cosmetic changes than the previous models. The sharper design language, including exterior and interior specifications and new equipment featured by the 911 range models.

The 2017 turbo models, Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S, showcased at the Detroit Motor Show for the first time in December 2015. The overall appearance and the outline of the new generation cars similar to the previous models but, the cars get extensive sports coupe with the more detailed updates.

New cars feature the four-point LED daytime running lights, large front bumper, projector headlamps, side-mounted air blades, double fillets, and dark chrome finished bigger central air intake. The rear part of the car comes with the slightly tweaked bumper and LED taillights for an attractive and sharper look.

The new sporty models get the PCM- Porsche Communication Management with the advanced 7-inch infotainment system and SmartPhone compatibility. The Porsche range cars feature the Apple car play for the iPhone owners, updated steering wheel, as well.

In terms of technology, the Porsche car comes with the advanced driving dynamics for improved performance and comfort. The special model, 911 Turbo S gets the Sport Chrono Package, which is expected to be derived from 918 Spyder. The cars to contain the equipment like PASM – Porsche Active Suspension Management, PCCB – Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes and PDCC – Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control.

Turbo and Turbo S performance:

A total of flat-six updated engines will be offered in the 2017 Porsche range models and mated with the single automatic transmission option of 8-speed PDK dual-clutch. The 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged engine powers the 911 Turbo and Turbo S models and returns the maximum outputs of 533bhp and 572bhp respectively. The Turbo model is to be accelerated from 0 to 100kms in just 3.0 seconds whereas the Turbo takes 2.9 seconds
.
Carrera Cabriolet and Carrera S performance:

With the twin-turbo 3.8-litre engine, the Carrera Cabriolet returns the 370bhp and the Carrera S has the capacity to develop 420bhp of power.

Mahindra launched KUV 100 Xplorer edition in India


The SUV leader, Mahindra &Mahindra has been introduced the special edition KUV 100 Xplorer in the Indian market. The new KUV 100 edition costs Rs. 50,000 higher than the existing cost of the sub-4metre car, which is available in the price range of Rs. 5.01 lakh to Rs. 7.81lakh in Delhi ex-showroom.

The special edition introduced with the high range of accessories to increase its exterior appearance of the Mahindra’s new car. The KUV 100 features the Xplorer badge, silver plastic cladding on the front bumper, roof rails, rear bottom lip and side skirts. Moreover, it is available with the gloss black finished roof, faux air intakes at the both sides of the engine hood and the special headlamp assembly.
 
The list is continuous and the sub-4metre SUV edition, KUV 100 Xplorer gets the black plastic body cladding all over the place the taillights and rear windshield. The roof spoiler integrated with the split brake light for easy convenience. The front air dams also featured with the black cladding for contrast look and the inside is decorated with the black colored leather seat covers with the orange piping.

There are no engine changes applied to the KUV 100 and continued with the existing mFalcon family engines.Without any announcement, Mahindra has released the special edition with the latest accessories to influence the car sales. 

KUV 100 Petrol:

The petrol car comes with the 1.2-litre G80 engine rated at 82bhp of power and 115Nm of torque and returns 18.15kmpl.

KUV 100 Diesel:   
            
The diesel car returns the mileage of 25.32kmpl with the 1.2-litre D75 engine that generates 77bhp and 190Nm outputs with the only transmission option of 5-speed MT.

With the addition of accessories, Mahindra expected that the KUV 100 range is to be increased in the compact crossover market.

Best Maruti Suzuki cars in India at reasonable prices

Maruti Baleno to touch 75,000 units sales milestone in this month

The Indian-made Maruti Baleno hatchback to achieve a milestone of 75,000 unit’s sales by the June end with its global standard design quality and performance. With the more demand in the car market, the automotive resources expected that Maruti Suzuki will be sold around 10,000 units in this month. Launched in October 2015, the Baleno premiumhatchback to touch this milestone in around 8 months. By observing this result, the hatchback will most probably cross the 1 lakh milestone in less than one year period.

The Indian carmaker sold a total of 10,004 units of the hatchbacks in the last month as a result, the total sales closed to 64,263 units since the product launch. On the daily basis, Maruti sold over 260 cars in May 2016. The same kind of response will happen in this month, the premium hatchback will easily cross the 75,000 units mark by the end of this month.

The Baleno has received 6 to 8 months waiting period in some cities due to the high demand in the present car market. Maruti Suzuki to be delivered around 45,000 orders of Baleno as an immediate act. To reduce the waiting period, the car market leader plans to increase the production capacity of the successful product, Indian-made Baleno.

The production capacity is gradually increasing by the company and now, it is to be reached to 12,000 units in a month. Moreover, the company has been started the exportation of Baleno to the Japanese market, which also influences the product demand. So that, Maruti Suzuki is planning to bring a perfect solution to meet the demands of both domestic and export markets.

Baleno has already become as one of the top best-selling cars in India, even though it will try to cross the closest revival, Hyundai Elite i20 in terms of sales. To add more strength, the Baleno RS showcased at the motor show event of Auto Expo 2016 will launch in the festival period. Maruti Ciaz crossed 1,00,000 units sales mark in around 20 months


The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan has crossed 1lakh unit’s sales mark with its hybrid variants and performance. It is the significant product of Maruti Suzuki in the mid-size segment and available in diesel and petrol trims that feature high-efficient engines. The Ciaz has managed to become a best-selling car in the mid-sized sedan segment in the last month. But, it has faced the toughest competition from the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Vento. Now, the Ameo is another affordable product from Volkswagen introduced in the sub-4metre sedan segment.

The Ciaz sales expected to be influenced the largest Indian carmaker to offer the new products in the compact sedan segment. The sales of the Maruti sedan increased in the domestic market with the introduction of the hybrid system (SHVS) on the diesel variants. The Ciaz hybrid is the top fuel efficient car in the Indian car market and rated at 28.09kmpl ARAI certified mileage.

One of the main reasons, the mid-sized car has received financial incentives from the Government under the FAME scheme. In addition, the hybrid versions excused from the Delhi’s odd-even rule and the SC’s order, registration ban of over 2000cc diesel engines. It is the first Maruti car introduced with the Suzuki’s hybrid system so that the demand is automatically increased in the market.

The government has reduced the excise duty on the Maruti Ciaz hybrid from 24 percent to 12.5 percent. As of result, the sedan car is now priced Rs. 7.68lakh to Rs. 9.49 lakh in the Maruti Suzuki showrooms. Based on the variant, the car has received a drop of Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 69,000 in the current market.

Indian-specific Volkswagen Tiguan SUV gets 5-star rating in safety


The upcoming Indian-specific Volkswagen Tiguan has scored a remarkable 5-star rating in the crash test conducted by Euro NCAP. The German company has showcased the VW Tiguan for the first time at the International Motor Show 2015 in Frankfort. In the Indian market, the SUV has made its debut at the Delhi show, 2016 Auto Expo.

The Volkswagen Tiguan is expected to be the first entry in the utility vehicle segment in India and the model scored 96 percent in adult safety, 84 percent in child safety, 72 percent in pedestrian protection and 69 percent in safety assistance. The second generation VW Tiguan has attended the safety tests like the frontal crash at 64Km/h into an aluminium barrier with 40 percent overlap and front crash into a rigid barrier at 50Km/h and 100 percent overlap.

Some more test were, side pole impact at the speed of 32Km/h, automatic emergency braking that helps to avoid accidents with the vehicles and rear-end collision test. The upcoming VW SUV comes with the wide range of safety features, such as seven airbags in the interior (head airbag system for both front and rear passengers, driver airbag, front passenger airbag and side airbags). Being a high range car, it will be available with the safety headrests, anti-lock braking system, ESC- Electronic Stability Control, brake assist and collision braking system.


The first-generation model has already acknowledged as the highest selling car in the utility vehicle segment in the European market. With the luxury effects and equipment, the second-gen car will introduce in India. The German carmaker is planning to expand its product range in the Indian market so that it has been launched the first sub-4metre sedan VW Ameo in the first week of this month. In the coming years, the carmaker’s electric cars will come to the Indian car market with the German-based engineering and design quality.  

No confirmation from Volkswagen but the sources reported that the new Tiguan will be received the new MQB Platform to reduce its weight.  The SUV will be offered in both fuel variants with the 2.0-litre TDI diesel and 1.4-litre TSI petrol engines. The European market will additionally receive the hybrid variants of the Tiguan SUV. 

The upcoming VW Tiguan will come to India in the next year and target the products like Chevrolet Trailblazer, new Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. The new SUV will cost around Rs. 25 to 30 lakh in the VW ex-showrooms.

Upcoming car Maruti Suzuki Ignis to get a CVT


The awaited model Maruti Suzuki Ignis to get a CVT instead of automatic manual transmission, according to the fresh news from the automotive sources. The CVT option will be available in the petrol variants of the Ignis, which has been previewed at the Delhi motor show, 2016 Auto Expo. The automatic gearbox (CVT option) is expected to be received from the Baleno petrol variants, which receive more demand in the global market.

The Maruti Ignis is mostly similar to the Japan-specific Suzuki Ignis, which is available in the company’s home market. The Ignis will feature the new roof rails, slight design tweaks and the additional equipment for the new appearance in the car industry. The upcoming car measures 3,700mm length, 1660mm width, 1595mm height and comes with the 2435mm long wheelbase and the high ground clearance of 180mm.

The Indian-specific Ignis will be available in both fuel types, petrol and diesel engines, which will be mated with the 5-speed manual transmission as a standard gearbox. Additionally, the CVT option will offer in the petrol variants, which cost higher than the manual cars. The two engine options, 1.3-litre diesel engine motor retrieved from the best-selling S-Cross crossover and 1.2-litre K12B petrol motor with the VVT.


The Maruti Ignis will be joined in the Nexa network’s product range as the company is planning to introduce it via the premium outlets. Currently, the Baleno hatchback and the S-Cross sold in the Indian market via the Nexa outlets that provide excellent hospitality services and user experience to the customers. Maruti Suzuki said that the Nexa network will be expanded to 250 outlets by the fiscal year end, from 127.

Along with the Nexa outlets, the carmaker to open the premium service centres (workshops) with the high-range service facilities across the country. No official information about Ignis launch, but the sources reported that it will be introduced in the festival months to get more bookings and sales from the potential buyers.

The Ignis will be positioned as a unique product of Maruti Suzuki in the Indian car market with the new platform and a CVT automatic gearbox. Till the date, the locally-developed Baleno gets more positive compliments from all worldwide markets. In a similar way, the Ignis will get top bookings after its launch and compete with the new Mahindra KUV 100, best-selling Mahindra car and Tata Tiago Aktiv. 

Maruti Ignis will cost around Rs. 4.8Lakh to Rs. 7lakh depends on the engine option and variants at the Maruti Suzuki showrooms.

Maruti Suzuki increases Baleno production to reduce waiting period


The biggest car company in India, Maruti Suzuki is planning to increase the production capacity of the Baleno hatchback to reduce the waiting period depends on the variant. The carmaker’s decision not only to cut the waiting period, but also meet the present demand in the automotive market. Maruti Suzuki announced that its parental company, Suzuki Motor Corp will start pilot production at the manufacturing plant in Gujarat in the Q1 (January to March) of the next calendar year.

R S Kalsi, Maruti Suzuki’s executive director for marketing and sales department, said that we at the company will search for the production efforts to enhance the Baleno hatchback production. In the present market, Maruti Suzuki has best-in-class new products like VitaraBrezza, S-Cross crossover and Baleno premium hatchback. Besides, all these products received the waiting period from the carmaker, according to him.

Presently, Maruti Suzuki has received around 45,000 bookings of the new Baleno and Vitara Brezza each in India. The hatchback has launched in October 2015 and the 6 to 8 months of waiting period based upon the variant and location. The Baleno petrol versions with the Boosterjet engine have more demand in the international markets, including the parent company’s home market (Japan).

Maruti Suzuki has doubled the production capacity of Baleno to 12,000 units per a month in the last months due to the product demand. Now, production capacity is also increased to meet the domestic and export market requirements. Kalsi said that the 250 company vendors along with Maruti Suzuki will increase their investments, production and other facilities. The total process will take time, but we will try to complete in the limited period as soon as possible. In the second part (July to December) of this year, the company will definitely increase the product’s volume.

The Baleno is sold via the premium sales outlets under the NEXA network that will be expanded to 250 units by the end of this fiscal year. Now, the Indian market has around 127 Nexa outlets in Mumbai, Thane, Hyderabad, as well. Maruti Suzuki has initiated the Baleno exportation to the Japanese market in January 2016 and the same model will be introduced here (in India) as the Baleno RS. 

Moreover, Kalsi added that the Gujarat plant has the higher production capacity of 2,50,000 units in the first phase. The plant will supply the components and vehicles to Maruti Suzuki to meet the targets. With the new cars, the company’s sales will be increased around 6 to 8 percent in the fiscal year 2016-17. Otherwise, Maruti Suzuki will report the double-digit growth with the upcoming launches, Maruti Ignis and Baleno RS, showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi.

Volkswagen Group to cut over 40 models: Matthias Muller

Volkswagen, the biggest German company plans to cut more than 40 models within its five important brands in the international automotive market. The total VW Group, including Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, Skoda and Seat, has around 340 best-in-class models in the global market. But, the list of cars will be reduced to below 300 cars with the new announcement from Volkswagen. There are two reasons to cut down models, one is the biggest diesel emission scandal and another one is the sales of all models were low in the respective markets.

Matthias Muller, Chief Executive of Volkswagen, announced that the company will cut the few car and motorcycle models but, he didn’t reveal the number. Additionally, VW has presented a new strategic plan, “Together –Strategy 2025”. The main objective of the new VW strategy is the group to focus on introducing self-driving vehicles and electric cars in the international automotive industry. This plan will implement by Volkswagen in the coming years to overcome from the major emission scandal that amounts $18.3 billion.

As per the reports, the carmaker is difficult to manage the making of multiple models at the production units. In which, the total of 12 automotive brands like MAN trucks, Ducati motorcycles and Lamborghini sports cars. The Europe’s largest carmaker plans to get the reputation again in the market with the implementation of the new strategy plans. Volkswagen carmaker will invest billions of Euros in introducing the environment-friendly electric vehicles and become the world leader by the end of 2025 with the automated driving technology. 

Volkswagen has already confirmed that the company introduces 30 all-new electric cars globally by 2025 end. Additionally, VW plans to sell nearly 3 million of cars in the car market with the introduction of the new strategy plan.

Volkswagen Ameo introduced in Bangalore at Rs. 5.33lakhs


Volkswagen India has introduced its all-new compact sedan Ameo in Bangalore, Karnataka at the ex-showroom price tag of Rs. 5,33,620. VW Ameo is the much-awaited model specially designed and developed for the Indian car market. It is the entry level model from the car manufacturer in the compact sedan segment and retrieved major cosmetic elements and features from the best-selling Polo hatchback and Vento sedan models.

The VW Ameo is introduced in three versions in the domestic market, namely Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. The compact sedan comes with the latest equipment, body-colored door handles, front bumpers and door mirrors with the turn indicators. The standard features, including the anti-lock braking system, adjustable tilt and telescopic steering wheel, single-folding rear seats with the seat backrest and dual front bags, offered in the Volkswagen Ameo.

The  Highline higher version gets more specifications, automatic rain sensing wipers, automatic climatic control (Climatronic), reverse parking sensors, cruise control, reverse parking camera, open and close windows, one-touch remote, leather-covered steering wheel and gear shift knob, ESB- Electronic Stabilization Program, Hill Hold control and touchscreen infotainment system.  

The Volkswagen compact sedan comes with the 1.2-litre MPI petrol engine with the three-cylinder capacity and 1.5-litre 4-cylinder TDI engine. The fuel types of engines are paired to the two transmission options, 5-speed manual and dual-clutch automatic. The petrol engine is rated at the power output of 73.94hp (75 PS) at 5,400rpm and the highest torque of 110Nm at 3,750rpm. The seven-speed DSG automatic transmission offered only on the Comfortline and Highline variants (diesel).

In fact, the German company has been officially introduced the Ameo on June 5 in the Indian market. The sub-4-metre sedan category is one of the growing segments in the domestic automotive industry so that the new Volkswagen sedan car will compete with the Tata Zest, Honda Amaze and Maruti Swift Dzire, which is one of the top-10 selling cars. Based on the Polo platform, the appearance of Ameo is mostly similar to the hatchback and available in five exterior color choices, Toffee Brown, Blue Silk, Candy White, Reflex Silver and Carbon Steel.

Maruti Suzuki to launch S-Cross petrol versions in India


Maruti Suzuki, the greatest Indian passenger car company, is planning to introduce the petrol versions of its S-Cross premium crossover. As per the fresh reports from Autocar, the carmaker is working on the S-Cross petrol with the 1.5-litre M15. The 1490cc four-cylinder petrol engine offers with the capacity of 100bhp of power at 5,900 rpm and 133Nm torque at 4,100rpm. In the last year, the Indian carmaker has introduced the S-Cross crossover with the two diesel engine options. Now, it is much interested in introducing the new petrol options as per the anti-diesel customer requirements.  

The 1.5-lite petrol engine powers the premium S-Cross and is expected to be mated with the four-speed automatic gearbox. But, the mechanical specifications of the Maruti S-Cross are not yet confirmed by the carmaker. The upcoming cars will most probably offer with the M15 engine that will replace the existing 1.4-litre K14 petrol engine available in the Maruti Ciaz.

The crossover is currently sold in the Indian market through the NEXA network, which is the company’s premium dealership’s network. The limited number of Nexa outlets available in the country and the manufacturer is planning to expand the network. Moreover, Maruti Suzuki has announced that the premium workshops or service centres under the NEXA will be opened as soon as possible.

The Maruti S-Cross is the first car introduced via the premium network and after, the Baleno hatchback has sold through the same network. Presently, two cars available in the premium showrooms and the Maruti Ignis will be added to the list by the end of this year.

The diesel versions of crossover offered with the 1.3-litre DDiS 200 and the 1.6-litre DDiS 320 engines and standard manual gearbox. The 1.3-litre engine is rated at 89bhp of power and 200Nm torque and returned the fuel economy of 23.65kmpl whereas the higher capacity engine is developed 118bhp of power. Being a premium crossover, the S-Cross has received the highest number of sales and set the toughest competition in its kind of segment. The 1.3-litre S-Cross base variant is priced Rs. 8.03 lakh whereas the 1.6-litre base variant costs Rs. 10.23 lakh in the ex-showrooms. 

A few days back, the company has reduced the price cost around Rs. 1 lakh on the higher variants to retrieve some satisfactory sales. With the introduction of new petrol versions, the S-Cross brand’s name will be increased in the Indian market. Furthermore, the existing Maruti’s product range and upcoming cars will be introduced with the 1.5-litre M15 engine.

Maruti Alto 800 facelift introduced in Sri Lanka


Maruti Suzuki, the leading Indian passenger car company has been introduced the facelift of its popular and best-selling small car Alto 800 in the Indian market in May 2016. Now, the same model (Maruti Alto 800 facelift) was launched in Sri Lanka at the starting price of LKR 20.15 lakhs, equal to Rs. 9.33 lakhs. AMW Motors is Maruti Suzuki’s authorised distributor in Sri Lanka distribute the variants of new Alto 800.

Variants & engine specifications:

The small car is available in four  variants (LXi , LXi (O), Vxi and VXi (O))and offered with the 796cc three-cylinder F8D engine, which is paired with the two types of transmission options, 5-speed MT and cable type gear shift and rated at the 35.3 Kw maximum power at 6000 rpm and 69Nm torque at 3500 rpm. The new car increased its fuel economy by 9 percent and returned 24.7kmpl with the new brake booster that improves braking performance.

Dimensions:

The new Alto 800 is measuring the overall dimensions of 3430mm length, 1515mm width with side moulding, 1475mm height with the wheelbase of 2360mm, ground clearance of 160mm and turning radius of 4.6m. The facelift has increased its length by 35mm than its predecessor and offered in two additional colors, Cerulean Blue and Mojito Green.

Design & features:

The front profile of the Alto 800 features the redesigned bumper, new headlamps and fog lamps and new grille. Moreover, the new facelift gets the dark grey colored interior with the 5-seating capacity, fabric and vinyl seat upholstery, silver accent speedometer and instrument panel, 3-spoke steering wheel finished with metallic, as well.

Volkswagen plans to launch more than 30 electric cars in next 10yrs


The German carmaker Volkswagen is planning to introduce electric vehicles in the global market to regain its brand image that was affected due to the diesel emission scandal. It was confirmed by Volkswagen previously and now, the best automotive sources confirmed that the Volkswagen Group to launch over 30 all-new electric cars by 2025. In addition, the best car company has dedicated to selling two to three million units of vehicles in every year with the introduction of electric powered cars. Volkswagen will follow respective government limits on emission standards to introduce the new generation battery operated cars. 

In the September month of the last year, the German car brand’s diesel emission scandal has been raised up and blow out to the biggest global markets. Upcoming 2017 SsangYong Rexton Spied in Korea


Mahindra’s owned South Korean based car manufacturer, SsangYong has decided to showcase its upcoming 2017 Rexton at the next coming Paris Motor Show. But, the next-generation SsangYong (Mahindra) Rexton has been spotted with the totally covered exterior for the performance testing in Korea ahead of Paris debut. The new SUV is to be heavily renovated in terms of design, including square wheel arches, bumper and flowing roofline with the SsangYong LIV1 concept.

The 2017 Rexton is expected to be offered with the new ladder frame chassis and two drivetrain options, one is FWD - front wheel and AWD- all wheel. Most of the SUV is decorated with the wood work and leather finished for a new look than its predecessor. Moreover, the interior as well as the exterior of the SUV most probably feature the chrome finished accessories, which will give the classier and stylishness appearance. The latest reports confirmed that the technological advances, touch screen system and a variety of advanced features will be received by the next-generation Rexton.

The 2017 Rexton will be offered in both petrol and diesel versions but, the petrol based cars will take some time to launch in the global market.  The diesel variants of the SUV will be powered by the 2.2-litre engine that is capable of generating the power output of 178bhp. The 2017 Rexton petrol is likely to get the turbocharged 2.0-litre GDi petrol motor. The transmission options include 7-speed automatic and 8-speed automatic (petrol) will be sourced from the luxury carmaker, Mercedes-Benz.
There is no confirmation at all from the company, whether the same mechanical specification will offer or not. The diesel versions of 2017 Rexton SUV will be launched in the next year, whereas the petrol trims to come in sometime in 2017 only.  

In the Indian market, the upcoming SUV will be faced maintenance and cost issues as the car will be promised the completely different look. This is expected to target the existed sport utility vehicles in the car market in terms of mechanical equipment, design and performance. One more thing is the sources reported that it will be available in 5-seater and 7-seater configurations. It is cleared that the customers will wait for four months (Paris Motor Show) for more clarification regarding the 2017 SsangYong Rexton.


Additionally, the Korean company is working on the all-new electric car that will come in 2019 and the next-generation Tivoli and Korando models with the latest platforms.

Baleno hatchback’s waiting period again extends to 6 months


The Baleno hatchback from Maruti Suzuki continues to have the waiting period of six months, according to the latest report from the automotive sources. Now, the company has to deliver 45,000 units of the Indian-made Baleno but it has the lack of production units. In fact, the production of Baleno is running at its manufacturing unit with the full production capacity, even though the company will not deliver the models on time. Because the Baleno hatchback popularity is rising day by day in the passenger car market.

The premium hatchback has been launched in October 2016 and recognised in the car market like one of the top 10 best-selling cars in the last month. In the previous months, the Baleno has been received the best sales structure with the highly inflexible and lightweight platform. Offered at the price tag of Rs 4.95lakh, Maruti Suzuki introduced automatic gearboxes on the new Baleno car only on the Delta petrol version. Later, the carmaker introduced top-end Zeta variant with the CVT unit in the last month due to the considerable demand from the customers.                                                                                                      
The demand for the Baleno is expanded to the multiple biggest markets and it is the first Indian-made Maruti Suzuki car exported to the Japanese (Suzuki’s home-grown) market. The hatchback is now available with the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel and 1.2-litre K-series petrol engines. The petrol variants generated 74bhp of the maximum power and 190Nm of the torque at the high-speed range and offered with the 5-speed CVT and manual boxes. While the diesel engine mated with the manual gearbox and rated at the outputs of 83bhp and 115Nm.

Baleno gives the toughest competition to the best-selling hatchback, Hyundai Elite i20 and it’s kind of category models. The Indian made car sold a total of 10,004 units of models and named as the sixth highest selling passenger car. 

In the current period, the new models Vitara Brezza and Baleno received more booking orders with the high demand so that the company is struggling with the lack of units. Consequently, the Brezza receives around 7 to 9 months waiting period while the Baleno to get 6 month waiting period based on the location and variants. Moreover, the Ignis with the Suzuki’s platform and Baleno RS expected to launch in the next two to three months. There is confirmed that the Baleno RS will be sold via the premium Nexa outlets, but the Ignis crossover to offer at the general Maruti Suzuki outlets.

Upcoming Cars Maruti Ignis and Next-gen Swift Spied in Different Locations

Maruti Suzuki upcoming cars, Ignis and the next-generation Swift hatchback, have been spied in the different locations with the total covered body. The Ignis is the sub-compact crossover spotted for the overall performance testing in the Indian market, whereas the 2015 Swift hatchback model tested by the carmaker in Italy. Both models get the new design architecture that is to be designed based on the respective platforms and the high range of equipment.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis:  

Maruti Suzuki Ignis is the much-awaited model, which has been disclosed at the motor show of the Delhi Auto Expo in February 2016. It has been spotted for several times in India with the heavy camouflage and the sources confirmed that the Ignis car will have a new look at the final stage compared to the production-ready model. The passenger car market expected that the Ignis will be the next launch of Maruti Suzuki in India and the company plans to launch it during the festival period.

The Ignis is based on the parent company’s new iM4 concept to receive the unique look among the Maruti Suzuki range. In the latest images, the model features the make-shift fog lamps but, the production-ready model showcased with the production fog lamps. The rest of the exterior equipment like boxy headlamps, prominent front grille and crossover-style silhouette similar to the production model.

The Ignis measures the length of 3,700mm, 1,660mm of width, 1,595mm of height and 2,435mm of wheelbase. In the Japanese market, the Ignis will get the extensive range of features like the four-wheel drive system, Suzuki’s adaptive DCBS – Dual Camera Braking System with three cameras and hill decent control.

Coming to the specifications, the car will be available with the petrol variants with the 1.2-litre engine and diesel variants with the 1.3-litre motor. Moreover, the transmission options, 5-speed manual gearbox and the CVT automatic from the Baleno will be offered. There is a chance to offer the 1.3-litre Dualjet petrol variant with the SHVS mild hybrid system in the Indian market.

Next-gen Swift (2017 Swift):

The Indian carmaker is working on the next generation Swift hatchback, which is expected to attend the upcoming Paris Motor Show in October 2016. The upcoming Swift will be based on the newly launched Baleno hatchback’s lightweight and rigid platform. Additionally, the next-generation hatchback will be featured the Baleno’s exterior styling, in terms of liquid flow design. The Swift is to be updated heavily by the carmaker compared to the Baleno for offering the highest performance and best fuel economy. 

Whatever the features, compromising SmartPlay touch screen system, multi-functional steering wheel, as well available in the Baleno will be featured by the 2017 Swift model. There is no official information regarding mechanical specifications, but the car will continue the 4-cylinder (K-Series) petrol engine. The Swift Sport version will receive the 1.0L BoosterJet engine used in the Japan-specific Baleno car and India-bound Baleno RS, which will be launched in the festival season.

Mahindra KUV 100 overtaken Bolero SUV in May

The new Mahindra KUV 100 has overtaken the best-selling Mahindra car Bolero in terms of sales in the last month. According to the May sales report, the utility vehicle major has sold 4,446 units of KUV 100 and 4,419 units of Bolero. There is a just 27 unit’s difference between the both models of Mahindra but, the KUV 100 was highlighted and became as the highest selling car in the company’s portfolio. In the April month, the Bolero has the strong lead in the domestic market with the sales of 5,785 units. Also, the KUV 100 has received remarkable sales of 5,097 units in April 2016 with its small and iconic body shape.  

There are some reasons influenced the KUV 100 to become as the popular car, one of them is the price differentiation. The new car offered with the low price tag of Rs. 4.57lakh whereas the Bolero basic variant costs Rs. 6.47lakh in Delhi showrooms. The KUV 100 is the smallest car in the total range of Mahindra cars and measuring 3, 675mm of length, 1, 715mm of width with side cladding, 1,655mm of height with roof rails and the strong wheelbase of 2,385mm.

The KUV 100 is only the Mahindra car offered with the petrol variants, which are powered by the 1.2L mFalcon G80 petrol engine. The fuel-efficient three-cylinder engine paired with the standard transmission option of the 5-speed gearbox to generate 82bhp of power and 115Nm of torque. The KUV 100 is available not only in the petrol option but also in the diesel variants, which feature the 1.2-litre D75 engine with the maximum outputs of 77bhp and 190Nm.

Just less than 15 days back, the SUV major has introduced its smallest car, KUV 100 in the South African market at the price tag of Rs. 6.48lakh. In the Nepal market, the KUV 100 is sold via the authorized Mahindra distributor, Agni Incorporated.


Due to the higher demand of KUV 100 vehicles in the domestic market, the production capacity was increased to 9,000 units in the month of February. It gives competition to the smallest car range models, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10.
