The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan has
crossed 1lakh unit’s sales mark with its hybrid variants and performance. It is
the significant product of Maruti Suzuki in the mid-size segment and available
in diesel and petrol trims that feature high-efficient engines. The Ciaz has
managed to become a best-selling car in the mid-sized sedan segment in the last
month. But, it has faced the toughest competition from the Hyundai Verna, Honda
City and Volkswagen Vento. Now, the Ameo is another affordable product from
Volkswagen introduced in the sub-4metre sedan segment.
The Ciaz sales expected to be influenced
the largest Indian carmaker to offer the new products in the compact sedan segment.
The sales of the Maruti sedan increased in the domestic market with the
introduction of the hybrid system (SHVS) on the diesel variants. The Ciaz
hybrid is the top fuel efficient car in the Indian car market and rated at
28.09kmpl ARAI certified mileage.
One of the main reasons, the mid-sized
car has received financial incentives from the Government under the FAME scheme.
In addition, the hybrid versions excused from the Delhi’s odd-even rule and the
SC’s order, registration ban of over 2000cc diesel engines. It is the first Maruti
car introduced with the Suzuki’s hybrid system so that the demand is
automatically increased in the market.
The Ciaz car has been launched in
October 2014, but it received the mild hybrid system in the last year to boost
up the sales. By observing the Ciaz demand in the market, Maruti Suzuki
introduced the Ertiga hybrid versions at affordable prices.
The government has reduced the
excise duty on the Maruti Ciaz hybrid from 24 percent to 12.5 percent. As of
result, the sedan car is now priced Rs. 7.68lakh to Rs. 9.49 lakh in the Maruti
Suzuki showrooms. Based on the variant, the car has received a drop of Rs.
55,000 to Rs. 69,000 in the current market.
