Maruti Suzuki new SUV in making to compete with Creta


The leading Indian car maker is working on the next-generation SUV to compete with the Hyundai Creta, which is the best-selling SUV in the current SUV market. This was the new report from Motor Octane and the other sources confirmed that Maruti Suzuki has already started the development of the new SUV. In the present automotive market, the sport utility vehicle segment is more popular so that the Indian carmaker is decided to strengthen its position by introducing the new performance and design based SUVs.

Maruti Suzuki has already launched the S-Cross crossover with the SUV body shape to compete with its kind of segment models, but it hasn’t that much of successful recognition in the country. In the month of March 2016, the Vitara Brezza has offered in the compact SUV segment and the model gets more sales. Most of the potential buyers looking for Vitara Brezza in India, consequently it receives six to nine months waiting period in some of the cities. 

The upcoming SUV will be designed on based on the Suzuki’s fifth generation platform that is to be shared with the next-generation Baleno. As per the fresh reports, the SUV will be manufactured in India and exported to the global markets, compromising Suzuki’s home ground, Japan. The Creta competitor will be introduced in the next fiscal, whereas Hyundai Company is working on the new compact SUV that is expected to be available in 2018. The upcoming Hyundai SUV will feature two types of engine options, 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and 1.4-litre diesel engine.
   
The upcoming Maruti SUV will get the 1.5-litre diesel engine that is interrelated with the 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission to return 115bhp power. The S-Cross is sold via the Nexa network, whereas the Vitara Brezza is sold through the normal Maruti Suzuki dealerships. As a consequence, the upcoming SUV is likely to be retailed via the regular company dealerships. The new SUV (Creta competitor) will cost around Rs. 11lakh to 16lakh (on-road).
