Porsche launched 2017 911 range models in India



Porsche India has introduced the new 2017 911 range models in the Indian luxury car market at the starting price of Rs. 1.42 crore in Delhi ex-showroom. A total of 10 variants launched based on the two base trims, 911 Carrera and 911 Turbo, which features the renovated engines and new generation cosmetic changes than the previous models. The sharper design language, including exterior and interior specifications and new equipment featured by the 911 range models.

The 2017 turbo models, Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S, showcased at the Detroit Motor Show for the first time in December 2015. The overall appearance and the outline of the new generation cars similar to the previous models but, the cars get extensive sports coupe with the more detailed updates.

New cars feature the four-point LED daytime running lights, large front bumper, projector headlamps, side-mounted air blades, double fillets, and dark chrome finished bigger central air intake. The rear part of the car comes with the slightly tweaked bumper and LED taillights for an attractive and sharper look.

The new sporty models get the PCM- Porsche Communication Management with the advanced 7-inch infotainment system and SmartPhone compatibility. The Porsche range cars feature the Apple car play for the iPhone owners, updated steering wheel, as well.

In terms of technology, the Porsche car comes with the advanced driving dynamics for improved performance and comfort. The special model, 911 Turbo S gets the Sport Chrono Package, which is expected to be derived from 918 Spyder. The cars to contain the equipment like PASM – Porsche Active Suspension Management, PCCB – Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes and PDCC – Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control.

Turbo and Turbo S performance:

A total of flat-six updated engines will be offered in the 2017 Porsche range models and mated with the single automatic transmission option of 8-speed PDK dual-clutch. The 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged engine powers the 911 Turbo and Turbo S models and returns the maximum outputs of 533bhp and 572bhp respectively. The Turbo model is to be accelerated from 0 to 100kms in just 3.0 seconds whereas the Turbo takes 2.9 seconds

Carrera Cabriolet and Carrera S performance:

With the twin-turbo 3.8-litre engine, the Carrera Cabriolet returns the 370bhp and the Carrera S has the capacity to develop 420bhp of power.

Porsche has six showrooms in the major cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi and Kolkata and now, the German based company plans to open two showrooms in Hyderabad and Chennai as soon as possible for expanding its presence in the Indian luxury car market, according to Pawan Shetty, director of Porsche India.
