Datsun launched Redigo against Maruti Alto 800

The carmaker, Datsun has been introduced the entry-level hatchback Redigo in the Indian car market at the affordable price of Rs. 2.38lakh (Delhi ex-showroom). Mainly, the new Redigo will compete with the Maruti Alto 800 – one of the best cars in India, Hyundai Eon and Renault Kwid in the Indian market. The newly launched hatchback car is offered in five variants and designed based on the CMF-A platform.

The appearance of the new Redigo hatchback is similar to the small crossover, which is available with the 800cc 54bhp and 72Nm petrol engine. With the front-wheel drivetrain, the generated power is delivered to the front wheels to return the best economy. The Redigo is one of the fuel-efficient hatchbacks in India as the car is rated at the mileage of 25.17kmpl.

The higher version Datsun Redigo S is priced around Rs. 1 lakh higher than the base variant as it is featured with the additional equipment of the 2-DIN music system, front power windows, folding rear seat, driver side airbag and LED DRLs. In the Indian market, the Redigo is the third model of Datsun after the Go and Go+ hatchbacks.

Redigo Vs Alto 800:

Both hatchbacks are petrol cars, Datsun Redigo is fuel-efficient than the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 that returns ARAI certified mileage of 24.7kmpl. The Maruti small car is available in 10 variants whereas the Redigo is offered in five versions. Almost the price structure and the standard features of both models are identical, the Alto’s base version costs Rs. 2.45 lakh in Delhi ex-showroom.

New hatchbacks: Redigo Vs Renault Kwid:

The new car, Redigo measures the length of 3.42 metres and the wheelbase of 2.34metres while its closest competitor Renault Kwid is available with the 3.67metre length and 2.42metre wheelbase. The price of the Datsun Redigo is lower than its segment based models like Hyundai Eon and Renault Kwid (Rs. 2.62 lakh to Rs. 3.67 lakh).

Redigo T – Rs. 3.09 lakh

Redigo T (O) – Rs. 3.19 lakh
