But, the next-generation SsangYong (Mahindra) Rexton has been spotted with the totally covered exterior for the performance testing in Korea ahead of Paris debut. The new SUV is to be heavily renovated in terms of design, including square wheel arches, bumper and flowing roofline with the SsangYong LIV1 concept.

The 2017 Rexton is expected to be offered with the new ladder frame chassis and two drivetrain options, one is FWD - front wheel and AWD- all wheel. Most of the SUV is decorated with the wood work and leather finished for a new look than its predecessor. Moreover, the interior as well as the exterior of the SUV most probably feature the chrome finished accessories, which will give the classier and stylishness appearance. The latest reports confirmed that the technological advances, touch screen system and a variety of advanced features will be received by the next-generation Rexton.

The 2017 Rexton will be offered in both petrol and diesel versions but, the petrol based cars will take some time to launch in the global market.  The diesel variants of the SUV will be powered by the 2.2-litre engine that is capable of generating the power output of 178bhp. The 2017 Rexton petrol is likely to get the turbocharged 2.0-litre GDi petrol motor. The transmission options include 7-speed automatic and 8-speed automatic (petrol) will be sourced from the luxury carmaker, Mercedes-Benz.
There is no confirmation at all from the company, whether the same mechanical specification will offer or not. The diesel versions of 2017 Rexton SUV will be launched in the next year, whereas the petrol trims to come in sometime in 2017 only.

In the Indian market, the upcoming SUV will be faced maintenance and cost issues as the car will be promised the completely different look. This is expected to target the existed sport utility vehicles in the car market in terms of mechanical equipment, design and performance.
