Audi to introduce its portfolio with petrol engines by next year

                                   

The luxury carmaker, Audi is planning to launch the petrol versions of all its existing India-specific models in the Indian market by the first quarter end of the next year as it has effected due to the diesel ban in Delhi. The German carmaker may lose the sales, which worth of around Rs. 760 crores, in this year as of the heavy diesel vehicles and SUVs ban in the national Capital and NCR regions, according to the estimation of Audi

Not only the diesel ban, the different excise rates of diesel vehicles impacted on the company’s business in India. As per the latest news reported by The Economic Times, Audi India will introduce the Audi A6 petrol variants in the sedan segment by the next week as well as all-new A4 sedan by the next month.
                                
The buyers are confused with the different new scheme of heavy diesel cars ban and excise duties so that this year credits a fewer amount of sales in India. As of these reasons, the customers postponed their purchases, according to Joe King, head of Audi India.

The buyers in other regions are expected that the similar kind of the SC’s diesel ban rule is expanded to those regions so that Audi India sales impacted, according to him. In this year, the luxury carmaker has lost total sales of 1500 to 200 cars, which worth of Rs. 760 crore by taking the average price of Rs 38lakh on each model.

In India, the company is only available with the petrol versions of A3 and A8 sedans (entry-level models). Audi has introduced it’s most of the vehicles in the sedan and SUV segments and the models priced in the range of Rs. 28 lakh to Rs. 2.5crore. The existing Audi cars in India are A3, A4, A6, A8, premium sports car R8 and SUVs (Q3, Q5 & Q7).

In this year, Audi will have a drop in terms of sales compared to the last year, but the luxury carmaker has reported 3.14percent growth with 11,192 units in the last year, against 2014.
