Maruti Suzuki registers 12.7% growth in July 2016

                                       
 Maruti Suzuki, the Indian car manufacturer, has achieved a growth of 12.7 percent in July 2016 with the sales of 1,37,116 units. The biggest carmaker has sold 1,21,712 units in the year-ago month (July 2015). With the new cars, Vitara Brezza compact SUV and Baleno premium hatchback, the company’s sales were increased in July 2016. Domestic sales of Maruti Suzuki increased to 1,25,778 units and reported 13.9 percent growth from the year-ago month sales, 1,10,405 units. The export market of Maruti Suzuki is not good and achieved just 0.3 percent growth with the Baleno.

The segments of mini cars, including Alto and Wagon R, and the super compact with the Dzire Tour, have registered negative sales in the last month. With the introduction of the Maruti Ciaz hybrid variants, the mid-size segment of Maruti Suzuki increased to 5,162 units, registering a growth of 145.9% from 2,099 units in July 2015.

                             

The segment of utility vehicles with S-Cross, Ertiga, Vitara Brezza, Grand Vitara and Gypsy, accounted for 151.3percent growth with sales of 17,382 units. The same segment holds 6,916 units of sales in July 2015 without Vitara Brezza and Ertiga Hybrid variants.

The carmaker sold 50,362 units of compact cars, Baleno, Swift Dzire, Celerio, Ritz and Swift, in the earlier month, a growth of 4.1% from sales in the year-ago month, 48,381 units. The total domestic passenger cars reported 2.2% growth with 93,634units in July, but this segment has negative sales in this financial year.

Just a few days back, Maruti Suzuki has entered into the segment of the light commercial vehicles with the Super Carry, which is reported at just 14 units.

Coming to this financial report, the carmaker sold a total of 4,85,559 units in the period of April to July 2016 and rated at 4.9 percent growth from sales in the year-ago duration, 4,63,041units. In this financial year, the company’s domestic were good with 7.7% percent growth, but the export market falls down to 20.2 %.

Apart from this, the launch of the Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming car, Ignis has postponed due to the high demand of Vitara Brezza and the premium hatchback (Baleno) in the current market.
