The Indian-bound cars, Maruti
Suzuki Baleno, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross crossover, has been previewed at the ongoing
GIIAS 2016 motor show in Indonesia. All Indian-specific models will have the
updated specifications, in terms of the mechanical and design features.
Maruti (Suzuki Baleno):
The 2016 GIIAS hosts the
Indian-made Baleno, which is under sale in India and the model is expected to introduce
in Indonesia at the year end or early months of the next year. The showcased
model is similar to the Maruti Baleno RS, the upcoming hatchback sets all to introduce
in India and offer with the mesh grille at the front side, sportier front
bumper, wider radiator intake, 16-inch alloy wheels, silver underlining and
roof spoiler.
The Suzuki Baleno exterior has
finished with the black color, which is not offered in India and featured the
HID headlamps with the LED DRLs, Smartplay infotainment with the 7-inch
touchscreen, Apple Carplay, multi-info car display and reverse camera with
parking sensors in the higher variants.
The Indonesia-specific Baleno will
be powered by the 1.4-litre K14B 4-cylinder petrol engine, which is available in
the Maruti Ertiga. The hatchback generates 91.1 PS of power and 138Nm of
torque, similar to the multi-purpose utility vehicle figures. Both the 5-speed
manual and automatic versions to be introduced in Indonesia.
Suzuki S-Cross Petrol:
Suzuki has showcased the Indian-specific
S-Cross petrol version at the GIIAS 2016. The debuted model was the
pre-facelift of the Indonesia-specific S-Cross. In Indonesia, the Suzuki
S-Cross is available with the M15A 1.5-litre petrol engine instead of the K10C
1.0-litre or K14C 1.4-litre BoosterJet engines. The old M15A 4-cylinder engine
has been rated at 109Ps and 138Nm in the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross with the manual and
automatic transmission choices.
The European-specific S-Cross was
offered with the BoosterJet engine, while the new petrol engine for the Indian-specific
model is under consideration. In India, the S-Cross crossover is available with
the two kinds of diesel engines, the 1.3-litre DDiS 200 and 1.6-litre DDiS 320.
Vitara Brezza Automatic (Diesel):
The automatic variant of the
Maruti Vitara Brezza has made its introduction in Indonesia at the stage of
GIIAS. Indonesia is the first market to get the sub-4metre SUV from MarutiSuzuki, the highest carmaker in India. Let’s come to the mechanical specifications,
the Vitara Brezza comes with the 1.3-litre diesel engine rated at 90 PS and
200Nm. The standard manual gearbox is used in the Indian-specific car, but the
Indonesian-market will receive the automatic gearbox of 5-speed AGS.
Till the date, the petrol versions
not confirmed for both markets, but the reports announced that the Vitara
Brezza petrol will launch in India in early 2017.
